Eye on Broad

Beware Eye on Broad is a complete joke !!! I took my daughter for an eye exam $40.00 she seen the Medical student for her visit and was then given the prescription for glasses and contacts. I took the prescription that Eye on Broad wrote to Walmart and purchased the glasses $298.98 just for the glasses. Once the glasses came in she started complaining that she couldn't see out of them and started having headaches. I thought she just needs a few days to adjust to the new prescription. I called Eye on Broad and explained that she couldn't see out of the glasses with the prescription that they gave her. I was told by the Office Manager that they would redo the prescription for her I explained to her that my daughter just started a new job and worked in a doctors office in a different town a hour away and she works 8am-5pm so she would have to leave work early in order to get the new exam and she was concerned about leaving early do to it being a new job. My daughter had surgery on her eye when she was about 6 months old and now she is 20. I was told by Eye on Broad that before they did a new prescription that she would need to go back to her surgeon to make sure that there was no need for a new surgery and that everything was good. We made the appointment and went to the surgeon $75.00 the surgeon looked at her said everything was fine no surgery needed. She also looked at the new glasses and read the prescription and said that the prescription was not correct and that Eye on Broad needed to make the new prescription for a new pair and they needed to reimburse me or pay for the new glasses since it was there fault. Due to my daughters work schedule she went to Walmart on a Saturday and had her new prescription done and at that time was given contacts and could see and did not have any issues. I went to Eye on Broad today and took all of my records from the surgeon, receipts from the surgeon $75.00, receipt from Walmart for the glasses that are worthless $298.98 the receipt from the eye exam from Eye on Broad $40.00 and the new eye prescription that we got from Walmart $65.00 for a grand total of $472.98 I was at that time told by the office manager that it did not matter where or not the Medical student wrote the prescription wrong that was not there fault and that they were not giving me any of my money back and that I needed to go to Walmart to have the new glasses made and that I would have to pay for the new glasses. So I'm out of more money for new glasses because they say it's not there problem. And what's so said as while I'm in the office at Eye on Broad there's a lady sitting next to me and she is complaining that the new glasses she just got from them she could not see out of her glasses and she was told that she missed the 3 month cutoff and that she would have to have a new exam and then pay for a new pair !! Eye on Broad is a ripoff !! so buyer beware do not repeat. Do not go to them unless you've got thousands of dollars to pay !!!

Had exam and was trying to get glasses. The associate said it would cost me over $500 with my insurance. I contacted my insurance when I returned home and they advised that was wrong. My insurance pays for the basic eye exam and THEN I get $450 for glasses and lenses. Guess I'll have to find a place that knows what they are doing.

Wasted 21 minutes of my time because they apparently that's how long it takes to see if your in network. My insurance had you listed on their website as being in network and upon calling them they confirm being in network but they apparently outsource their call center to India so you get someone unfamiliar with what to do. 21 minutes on the phone it shouldn't take anyone that long to find if a company is in network

I've been a patient for over 10 years with never any problems. Eyes on Broad recently went under new management/ownership & I recently had a annual eye exam. Nothing wasn't done out of the norm. After my exam I was told I had to pay $29.00 for Digital Retinal Screening something that they do @ "Every" annual eye exam. I was immediately confused because This is something my insurance always cover. The associate that help me said she was with the company for 5 months after me asking if she was new. She then told me this was something that was covered under the insurance claims but due to the code that's now required per new management it's not and it will be $29.00 for that photo for everyone going forward. I felt like I should've been told this upfront of this change. I paid it but didn't agree with what I was being told. I called my insurance carrier & they confirmed it was paid every year but the code that was on my receipt S9986 which meant not medically necessary per my insurance agent. I called the office back & spoke to Torri and asked to speak to the office manager boss & Torri advise me she would have her to call me. Shanna Garza called me & was very rude & disrespectful. I simply told her I should've been advised of this change prior to. She said it wasn't Optional & was the procedure. She was loud & over talked me the entire call I pray it was recorded. She told me this is a fee that Will be charged going forward!! I had to tell her to lower her voice & watch her tone because I'm not her child or a child period. She totally flipped when I asked for her Boss name & number & she really got rude then telling me she "WASN'T" giving me that information nor have them to reach me but I can contact the office & let them know where I want my records sent & that she'll refund the 29$ She was Very rude Unprofessional Certainly disrespectful She was on my car phone & my children heard all of the arguing & told me they couldn't understand why she was so rude to me & the way she talked to me. I've never spoke to a manager in my life that was so unprofessional!!! I Pray Shanna Garza Boss or Supervisor see this review and give me a call, & I really hope the call was recorded. I am beyond pleased with my eye appointment experience at Eye On Broad. The processes from check-in, to eye exam, to selecting my eyeglasses were performed efficiently and professionally. I am especially impressed with and appreciative of the exceptional customer service provided to me by Kelby. She explained all of my lens options and costs in detail, and properly addressed all of my concerns. She's also technically skilled at selecting and modifying lenses to not only improve my vision, but also add comfort, and are aesthetically pleasing. I was treated as a valued customer and that is why I chose to purchase my glasses from there.

The staff at Eye on Broad are exceptional. They make you feel right at home. I needed to come in to see about eye condition I was experiencing. They were able to make room for me and I never felt that they were rushing to get to the next patient. I definitely recommend them.

The staff was wonderful. The girls in the front and the young woman at check out were wonderful got in is the same day appointment because I thought I really had a problem in one eye they managed to get me in and get me seen and the doctor is fabulous. I can't thank the staff enough and I will see you again after my surgery.

I have been coming to Eyes On Broad for over 25 years. The office staff is always professional and caring. Dr. Scheele is on time and doesn't keep his customers waiting. Thank you for what you do for so many.
