Not sure what her name is, she's one of the techs with almost buzzed black hair and fake nails. She is extremely RUDE and condescending. She immediately asked me on my post cataract surgery what I had done, near vision or far. I told her that was not discussed with me pre-op. She called me a flat out liar, then found out I have mono-vision. Oh, is all she said. I explained to her I did not receive my pre-op instructions, I took home everything but that. Again, she called me a liar. She treated me, and I am 61 years old, like a toddler. Yelling and printing out paperwork that I should have received weeks ago. She yelled that I had signed all of the forms and told me when I should've received them. Honey, you can yell and point your fake nails at me all you want, it does NOT mean I received the paperwork. What reason do I have to lie? It serves no purpose? This woman needs a course in customer service, majorly. And from prior crappy reviews, I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Horrible experience i took my 3 kiddos and my nephew with me and the tech was extremely rude to us and kept sighing her name was Michelle. She definitely does not know how to work with kids. Doctor was very nice and great with my 5 year old
Yesterday was my second time seeing Dr Bruening. I had called to reschedule my appointment well over a week before my scheduled date. I was given a new date and time, and when I got there, I was not on the schedule. The front office staff was rude, bit they decided they would see me. I drove almost an hour to get there. The nurse who took me back was very kind and explained things. Dr Bruening seemed upset when she came in and looked over my records and said there was too much to read and had her assistant skim the highlights. She told me she was supposed to be done for the day and was very unprofessional and rude. She rushed me out of there so fast, Im not sure what all of the test she did or why or what the outcome was. She said my eyes had changed some and wanted me to come back for testing for new glasses. I had an aweful experience and will not be back.
Yesterday was my first experience with this particular eye clinic. I have 2 chief complaints. First, I have no idea who treated me today. The technician did not introduce herself. The doctor did not introduce either herself or the technician who was assisting her. This is basic manners in my opinion. Second, whomever the first technician was, instilled a series of drops in my eyes. She did not explain to me what they were, nor what their purpose was. I have been to several eye examinations over the years and am aware of what it feels like when your eyes are dilated. My eyes did not feel dilated today. I was not advised to bring sunglasses, nor was I offered a "temporary " pair. But I was BLINDED by the sunlight when I walked out of the office! I could not get to my car, and my sunglasses , quickly enough. I was sensitive to light the remainder of the day and had to draw the drapes in my home, and have only dim lighting on for the rest of the day or again, the light was incredibly bright. Shame on me for not asking what the drops were, shame on whatever her name is for not explaining them to me and for not advising me that my vision could possibly be affected for the remainder of the day. The office is nice and clean- similar to every other office in the Dunes. I imagine I could have dropped my rating lower than 3 stars but I'm not petty like that. I will be addressing the quality of my care with my insurance tomorrow. I can't, in good conscience, recommend this office to anyone else.
All the staff were very polite, patient, & helpful. Front desk staff were super about helping me reschedule due to a family health emergency last minute. Dr.Pratt really listens to my changing vision concerns as they relate to my job, & gave me great tips on ordering my new glasses so they will fit me even better than the last pair. And Cassie did a fabulous job helping me choose frames that fit my small face & adjusting them just right to order! I love this office & trust them w all my vision issues!
Everyone was very friendly & professional. My appointment began promptly as scheduled. The nurse who cared for me before the exam was lovely. Dr. Rudloff was also very pleasant & took a considerable amount of time administering a thorough eye exam. I appreciate both of them answering my questions about the various tests given, as well as the health of my eyes. I highly recommend Dr. Bruening's office for overall service, as well as their willingness to accept Medicaid insurance. It's a breath of fresh air to receive quality care from physicians who value their patients over profits.
I was so disappointed with the experience I just had yesterday at Bruening Eye Specialists. I had been to the Morningside location before with a pleasant experience. Yesterday I visited the Dakota Dunes location. Dr. Kuiper was extremely kind and knowledgeable. His nurse lacked empathy and was extremely rude and inappropriate. When I told her I was in pain she told me that it was not physically possible for me to be feeling any pain - this went on multiple times. I feel it is the patients job to inform the nurse of what they are feeling - not the nurses job to tell the patient that their feeling are wrong. Then she held up the eye pressure device and given that my eye was super painful and sensitive I asked her if it was going to hurt. Condescendingly she said 'you can't feel any pain open your eye.' This was an inexcusable way to treat a patient and the worst patient/medical professional experience I have ever encountered.
Love the staff here they do amazing work. I was terrified of having Lasik but wanted to do it and went for it this year. It was absolutely amazing. Dr Breuning and Rhonda made the process smooth and comfortable. I would highly recommend going here for any thing you need to have done. My mom also had cataract surgery done here and had a wonderful experience!
