I feel like I am in excellent care. Everyone is helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend Dr. Vanhoven and Primary Eye care to everyone. My son referred us here when we moved to Nashville in 2011.

A family member visited here for a stye. The appointment itself went fine but when they sent the prescription into the pharmacy, they had forgotten to ask her birthday (and gave a random one to the pharmacist) so the pharmacy was unable to fill it. We called the business multiple times in the morning and afternoon and ultimately left a message. They didn't call back until the next business day!! What kind of service doesn't answer or check their phones for that long, especially when there is a concern from a patient that same day. We had to call their other location just to get it resent in... Highly frustrating!!

Had a 10:15 annual appointment and arrived at 10:10. While waiting in the waiting room, I watched several people come in after me and they were immediately seen. I checked at the front desk about my status at 10:30 and was told they were just waiting for a room. They apparently had rooms for all of the other patients that continued to come in after me. At 10:40, I told the front desk to cancel my appointment and left. Not sure what's the point of having an appointment if they expect you to wait around for 30+ minutes. If the roles were reversed, I'm sure they wouldn't be ok with you being 30 minutes late!

A tennis ball deflected off my racket and went straight into my eye. It didn't look good, so I went next door to Primary EyeCare to have it checked.
The staff were very nice and friendly and did their best to accommodate me. I was seen by Dr. Van Hoven, who was very friendly and helpful.
It seems like a great place to go for walk-in care when needed.

Five stars for friendless minus three stars for communication issues that seem to be long term and systemic. My wife and I have both had problems with leaving messages and getting no call back. It's likely to get a recorded message when calling during business hours. An instance where I did speak to someone recently, setting up a very specific type of testing I needed, having it repeated back to me by the nice person on the phone to clarify, got miscommunicated somehow by the time of my appointment and only partial testing was done as a result.

Showed up to pick up repaired glassed during out to lunch window for the office. Had a small window to get and would have had to sit there 45 min to wait for office to reopen but Jeff came out side door just as I was about to leave and I got his attention. He was so nice and willing to help me and took care of me on his lunch break. Thank you Jeff for going the extra mile to take care of me. Really appreciate your dedication.
