Dr. Feeley is fantastic! She genuinely listens and takes the time to explain issues well. She recommended and administered LipiFlow to treat MGD, and I've already noticed improvement. Dr. Feeley deserves 5/5 stars. It's rare to find a medical provider who cares as much as she does.
Unfortunately my experience with other workers in this office has been negative. On 12/16 more than 1 tech attempted to obtain imaging of my meibomian glands but failed. They seemed more interested in sitting around chatting. Dr. Feeley had to step in to flip my lids back and take the photos. Dr. Feeley was very patient in explaining MGD during my annual exam in November and this follow-up visit and asked that the tech Elizabeth (wore glasses and had very short orange-hued hair) perform the Schirmer test for dry eye. She applied numbing drops, inserted a paper strip inside each eye, and instructed me to keep my eyes fully closed for 5 minutes.
Later that evening when I pulled my very long red hair back into a hair tie to wash my face, I noticed an extremely short chunk of hair by the nape of my neck. As bizarre as it sounds, the only explanation that I can think of is that Elizabeth must have cut a chunk of my hair. I have no idea why she might have done this, but my hair was down during the eye appointment, and I had my eyes closed (in significant discomfort) for 5 minutes. At one point, Elizabeth apologized for taking so long to insert the paper strips, and she was obviously very close to my face and hair. It will take YEARS for this hair to grow back to the length of the rest of my hair.
I tried to let it go for fear of sounding crazy. However, after talking to friends who viewed it as assault, I decided to speak up. When I called the front desk and described the tech who cut my hair, I was told that her name was Kayla. Kristen, the Bristol location's Office Manager, called me back per my request. While apologetic, she said that Kayla was beloved by office staff and patients. I had to be the one to suggest solutions, including that she report the concern to the practice owners and that I never be in the presence of this employee due to safety concerns.
The Lipiflow procedure was initially scheduled in early January. However, I later received a call stating that it needed to be rescheduled because they didn't have some supplies. The day before this rescheduled date, I missed a call from Envision Eyecare. I called back before listening to the voicemail and guessed that they were confirming the appointment. They confirmed this was the case. However, when I later listened to the voicemail, an employee said they still didn't have the supplies and needed to cancel. I didn't show up for the canceled appointment, but I received a voicemail the next day stating that I had missed it. I called back to explain, concerned that I could be charged a missed appt fee.
On 2/6 before the Lipiflow procedure, Kristen informed me that the front desk employee had mistakenly said the employee was Kayla and that it was actually Elizabeth. She reassured me that Elizabeth no longer worked there. Elizabeth requested to transfer to Envision Eyecare's Abingdon location in December. I tried to ascertain whether she put in this request before or after 12/16, but she didn't specify. Kristen's tone was different, so perhaps they are now more inclined to believe me. Kristen said she would relay what happened to Envision Eyecare's owners, but it should have already been reported to the owners after my initial phone complaint.
At the front desk on 2/6, the employee told me I owed $424. I thought Dr. Feeley had said that the cost was $424 per eye, but I imagined that the employee was told the correct amount so didn't question it. I wondered if they might only bill for half up-front? Today I received a mildly accusatory voicemail from Kristen, the Office Manager. How is it my fault that the employee who billed me told me the incorrect amount? Why don't staff know what's going on? Why is Kristen rude and dismissive?
From check in to sign out, all staff were courteous, attentive and helpful. During my low vision evaluation, there was no sense of time constraints. Instead, numerous alternatives were presented for consideration until the best product for my condition was presented.
Thanks to all for your positive and helpful attitudes.
I'm not sure where to begin from the moment you walk into the door you're met with the happiest people that are always smiling and so friendly the wait times even without an appointment or virtually nonexistent. I showed up today with no appointment to pick out glasses and was in and out in less than 20 minutes ! The staff member that was helping me was amazing. She went above and beyond to make sure that I got the best package. My insurance and even got me transitions added for free with my Vsp. She took the time to answer any questions and was very pleasant to deal with . The doctor is also fantastic and I love the new office. It is a huge upgrade and compared to Any other major lens place they have the most advanced technology around to give you the best prescription possible they truly care!! Also, they use A VR headset, which is insane. I love it. Five stars all around beautiful property as well thank you they do accept Virginia Medicaid As an FYI, and I think they work with most insurances

I enjoy the people here. Everyone is very personable, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and engaging. Very professional with top-of-the-line equipment. I don't think I've ever had a better eye exam and understood the results as well.
Dr Daniel was very impressive didn't rush with anything. Explained everything very well.. the lady that did the pre exam was very friendly. Did an excellent job. Answered all my questions i asked. Very patient. Ladies at front desk were very friendly, helpful and patient with me. The girl who helped with my glasses was very patient. I felt the glasses and frames were very overpriced. Compared to other places i have checked. I did not like that you did not have prices on the frames when you were trying to pick them out.
I had a very good experience at Envision. The staff were very nice and respectful knew exactly what they were doing. Made sure u were prepped and ready for when the doctor comes in. He explained what my troubles were to where I understood all about it. They didn't try and sell me new glasses like all other eye doctors will do that I've been to. Amazing place and people I would recommend everyone to go that has eye problems
We had a great experience at Envision Eye Care Bristol. They fit us in and provided exceptional care. Special thanks to Elizabeth and Sarah.
Overall BEST eyecare experience we have had. Very friendly staff, prescription is on point, and the process was highly enjoyable. So much so, we even scheduled an appointment (conveniently the same week of of our appointment) for our 7 and 4 year old. They were fantastic with our kids and made the whole experience fun for them. As someone who works in customer service I can assure anyone that they will not regret choosing Envision.
