I had my first appointment with Premier Eyecare recently, and I was really impressed. The ladies at the front desk who checked me in and out were so warm and welcoming (I'm sorry I didn't get your names).
Joanne performed my pre-eye exam, and she was fantastic. She explained everything as she went along. Then Dr. Fry did the full eye exam, and I appreciated how thorough he was. His assistant (I think that's what she is) Noelle was an absolute sweetheart too. She answered whatever questions I had left over.
After the exam, Jessica helped me pick out new glasses, and she was honestly the best part. She was super knowledgeable about the options, walked me through the pricing and what my insurance would cover, and never once made me feel pressured to go for something more expensive. She really listened to what I needed and what fit my budget.
The office itself is gorgeous and smells amazing.
Overall, it was such a positive first experience. I've been to other eye doctors where it felt clinical and hurried, but this one genuinely cared about making it pleasant. Ohhh...and the wait time was very minimal.
Have been seeing Dr Fry at Premier Eyecare for over a decade. My husband has eye issues and Dr Fry is always right on top of it all. Everyone in the office is always so helpful and nice. There are other providers a lot closer to home and work, but we aren't even contemplating changing because Dr Fry takes such good care of our whole family.
New customer as of December 2025. I was impressed by the facility itself, being clean, orderly and nicely decorated for Christmas, as well as by the friendly staff. I had to speak with the office manager about some technical issues having to do with the laboratory provider, and she was quite understanding and helpful.
The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable they answered all our questions. Dr. Fry was wonderful we are so happy this eye doctor was recommended to us. The office is nice, clean, smells great and offers a big selection of eye glasses. They have all types of machines to help diagnose issues you are having with your eyes.
I was very disappointed to learn, after my exam, that my insurance is no longer accepted, so I had to pay out of pocket. During the check-in process, my insurance card was literally held in the hand of the woman that checked me in, and she did not say a word to me about it no longer being accepted. I was then told that all patients had received a phone call and email earlier in the year, which I told them is not accurate and which I have further confirmed to be untrue.
I'm a 62-year-old woman who came here for a basic eye exam -- nothing fancy, just trying to keep up with my health. The minute I walked in, I could tell I wasn't "their kind" of customer. The young woman at the front barely looked at me, and when I asked about their prices and if they accepted my insurance, she gave me that look -- you know the one -- like I was wasting her time.
They called my name, and the doctor rushed through the whole thing. No smile. No kindness. Just a blur of lights and lenses and sighs. When I asked a question about my prescription, he said, "You can get those glasses online," and walked out. I sat there for a moment trying not to cry.
I might be old. I might not have money for designer frames. But I still deserve respect. I left that office feeling like I didn't matter -- like being poor made me invisible.
If you have a mother, a grandmother, or just a heart, please don't go here. Nobody deserves to be treated this way.
Very nice and polished until you are paid up, but 600$ out of pocket later I don't have the right prescription glasses, and this is the second year and just like like last year they made it my fault somehow. Got my 30$ copy that I couldn't pay because THEIR system was down SENT to collections, 40$ charged for late payment, no reminder, no followup straight to collections. And mind you when it's time to get thousands from your eye exam they will followup with phone calls, emails you name it. All the products they are trying to sell you can get for half the price on Amazon and focus on doing your job right. They use Hoya which is a pretty average lens maker and I was actually told that Hoya is better than Zeiss. If you are a lonely white person who wants to pay more money for fake niceties yes by all means, but you want proper healthcare there are plenty of honest places without racism in Knoxville. And looking at the other negative reviews the owner claims you are not their patient if you leave a negative review, WOW just WOW!
I love the office space. So clean and smells so fresh. The front sitting area is fantastic and very comfortable. I had my annual eye checkup which was months late due to a hospitalization. The employees were so accommodating and made the visit relatively comfortable.
The waiting is always long, despite me filling out the forms online. But then, it was tolerable. The Dr and assistant more than made up and were extremely efficient.
I am very, very happy with both Doctors - Dr Fry and Dr Greene.
I would suggest patients to see both so that appointments can be made easily and there is more flexibility. They offer very early appointments too which helps for some of us who can't take time off.
