Volunteer Eyecare (Central)

I had the very best shopping experience at Volunteer Eyecare on Central! I went just to look but ended up getting the most perfect pair of glasses. The sweet girl that was helping me was sweet, kind, helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. It was like shopping with your girlfriends. She listened to what the glasses would be used for then got the lenses I need. She never once tried to get me to buy a bunch of things I didn't really need. It was the same level of customer service when the glasses came in. My family and I will most definitely be back!

They are wonderful here! The doctor is very thorough, makes detailed notes about previous visits in order to keep an eye (lol) on any changes in my eyes, not just the strength for corrective lenses but floaters, color changes, spots or changes in/around the macula. He is just wonderful! And Jessica rocks ! Thank you both!!!

I had been struggling with dry eye for a few weeks without diagnosis after visiting another eye care provider and was honestly starting to feel pretty hopeless about finding relief--until I came to Volunteer Eyecare. From the moment I walked in, the team made me feel cared for and listened to. Jessica was incredibly kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She helped guide me through the entire process and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Dr. Hawkins was thorough, compassionate, and helped me find a solution that worked for me. He recommended drops and a warm eye compress that have provided real, lasting relief. My eyes actually feel comfortable again! Both Jessica and Dr.Hawkins truly went above and beyond to help me get relief and I am so thankful. If you're dealing with eye issues or just want a practice that genuinely cares, I can't recommend Volunteer Eyecare Central enough. They are the real deal.

I had an amazing experience at the Bearden Location. It was my first time going to a new doctor alone without my family and the staff was extremely nice and very helpful. They were able to answer all of my questions and help me through everything. I will certainly be returning there for all my future vision needs!

Dr. Hammer is awesome and very through in her examination. She is very good at listening to your concerns and if she sees something that your general practitioner needs to know about your health, she lets you tell them and then communicates to ensure your health is taken care of for the future. The staff is terrific. They can adjust my glasses perfectly with one adjustment. Amazing experience.

Dr. Hawkins and Jessica were incredibly helpful and kind when helping both my husband and myself with new glasses. Love the location near our neighborhood too!

I had to cancel several times, the person who answers the phone berated me for rescheduling several appointments. It was actually pretty humiliating. She stated she was putting me, "on restriction, and same day call in only." Like I'm a child being put in time out!! I know I have not had to reschedule as many times as she stated. This past year I lost my father and my precious service dog so yeah I probably did have to reschedule several times. Death in your family apparently doesn't prevent them from being ridiculously mean inconsiderate heartless or rude. When I expressed I've had deaths in the family she said nothing. Might as well have an automated system if you don't have a heart or feelings! Gave 2 only because the optometrist was nice last visit.

They are wonderful! Had agreat exam and overall experience. Very friendly and pleasant atmosphere. Looks fairly new inside. They had a decent selection of glasses. I do wish there were a little less expensive options.
