Toni Truly Cares About People
I recently spoke with Toni, a triage agent at UT Hamilton Eye Institute - University Clinical Health, located at 1068 Cresthaven Rd Ste 400, Memphis, TN 38119, and she delivered the kind of service that deserves to be recognized publicly and internally.
I called to reschedule my appointment because of the weather, and Toni handled everything with ease. She secured the first available appointment and made sure my follow-up was fully confirmed. Her professionalism was matched by a calm, reassuring tone that let me know I was taken care of.
I'm writing this review to bring attention to her excellence -- not just for the public, but within her workplace as well.
Toni is poised and positioned for promotion and goodwill, and her aptitude makes that clear. She leads with kindness, and it costs nothing to be nice, yet she gives it freely. Her attitude speaks volumes about who she is as a person: someone who genuinely cares for others, and it shows in every interaction.
A refreshing, five-star experience from someone who represents her organization with pride and heart.
Our appointment was at 10:30 and we arrived 15 minutes early. It's now 12:10 and we are still waiting on the doctor. Asked an employee how much longer it would be and she stated that the doctor had 2 patients ahead of us ,totally unacceptable. Why schedule so many people at one time. Needless to say we are unhappy customers/patients right about now but what choice do we have but to wait they've already taken our copay. We will not be coming back.
Exceptional Service from Princess at UT Hamilton Eye Institute
I want to sincerely thank Princess at UT Hamilton Eye Institute - University Clinical Health in Memphis, TN, for her outstanding support. After two missed appointments due to a lack of notification from the referral source (Regional One or Hamilton), I was understandably frustrated. Princess not only acknowledged my concerns with genuine empathy, but she also took swift action to resolve the issue.
She rescheduled an old appointment from April 23rd and got me booked for mid-October, showing both initiative and care. Her ability to understand my dilemma, make an appropriate assessment, and follow through with a successful resolution was exactly what I needed. I truly applaud her professionalism and compassion. Princess turned a frustrating situation into a positive experience. Thank you!
My first time here, it seemed to be a great place with an excellent physician, staff & even the faculty.
However, it was the actual "physical address of the building" & Google Maps listing of the physicians & clinics inside the building [ or more specifically- it was the LACK of listing all of the correct names of the Physicians nor the correct names of the several different Clinics that are all located inside this ONE building- all of which having the SAME physical address.
Google Maps only listed this physical address as "dermatology offices." So, the specific physician that my patient needed to see was not listed NOR the name "LaBonheur Pediatric Eye Center" was not listed for this specific physical address ( the physical address was given to me by phone by the physicians staff at LaBonheur yet Google Maps consistently labeled the same address as "dermatology offices" instead of two different Eye Centers located here as well. Again, it does not list the actual eye physicians name nor the name of the clinic "LeBonheur Pediatric Eye Center" as being located at this physical address.
As a Medical Technologist coming from out of state, ( from Alabama to Memphis TN ) caring for an 89 year old patient with a past history of many surgeries & acute blindness- and a very important eye appointment ahead to make in a prompt & timely fashion,...
this trip became a feat and quite the fiasco that I won't soon forget.
*Notice: ONE building houses quite a few different physicians and or clinics.
Google Maps has this building labeled as mostly "dermatology offices"
( NOT as pediatric eye centers )
There are quite a few different physicians and clinics located inside this ONE 3 or 4 story BUILDING, with the SAME physical address- and MOST all of the physician names and or names of the clinics inside are not listed or mentioned as being at this this physical address.
I used the complete physical address given to me over the phone by LeBonheur Staff, and then put this address into Google Maps. I had to make a call to the staff once arriving in Memphis TN to CLARIFY this physical address & then I made repeated calls to the LaBonheur Pediatric Eye Center staff upon actually arriving at the physical address- the only way that I figured out and realized that LeBonheur Pediatric Eye Center was in fact located in this building at this very physical address was through repeated calls to the staff and an incredibly awful amount of stair climbing ( up and back down ).
Google Maps only lists or mentions a couple of physicians that I didn't recognize and it listed dermatology offices located inside this building NO eye centers.
FYI:
[ Note:
Note the Pic that I quickly shot of the glass door just beyond the elevator
[ on the 2nd Floor ] upon entering LaBonheur Children's Pediatric Eye Center...
ALSO:
The glass door shown in the pic clearly depicts BOTH the
"UT Hamilton Eye Institute" as well as the "LaBonheur Children's Pediatric Eye Center"...
[ Neither of which are mentioned by Google maps as being located in this building or at the physical address of the building. ]
And if this hasn't been confusing enough for folks, note that there are also TWO different eye centers-
that are BOTH located inside the same building and inside the very SAME office as well ...
[ 2nd Floor ]
Hope this helps someone else!! :-)
If you can endure the long hold times (15-30 mins) to make an appt. (while listening to music that sounds like it's from an episode of "Mod Squad" or some other bad 70's cop show), then the wait time in person isn't bad. And the Dr's are good. There is a LOT less parking than when they were on Germantown Rd. and be sure to make extra time to wait for other vehicles to unblock the wheelchair ramp.
I love Dr Lao! However the phone lines are impossible to get through. I could not make an appt due to a severe allergic reaction and needed to let them know and 30 minutes hold and had to hang up after that. Then I tried for days to get ahold of them and nothing. Now I cant even make an appointment. Like Im literally going to have to drive up there to get an appointment. So now it looks like Im a no show!
Dr. Fowler, Lindsey and other staff members are always courteous, professional, thorough and friendly. Wait times have much improved possibly due to social distancing guidelines being implemented. Being patient might keep you from becoming a patient.
My girlfriend won't leave a bad review but I will. She had a 1040 AM appointment and after 3 hours waiting she finally asked what the deal was and they said they would get to her next and put her in a room. No apologies, no updates in the 3 hours of waiting. No "sorry we are running behind" or "sorry it's going to be another 2 hours, would you like to reschdule?"
What an atrocious place and it looks like many others have dealt with 3 to 4 hour waits.
