I've been coming to Dr. Kara Nuygen for nearly 10 years, and she remains the best optometrist I've ever seen. Dr. Nuygen is incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about my eye health. She takes the time to explain everything clearly and answers all questions with patience and warmth. I always leave with a clear understanding of my prescriptions and any recommendations for care or follow-ups.
A huge shout-out to Denise, the office manager and assistant. Denise runs the front desk perfectly friendly, efficient, and incredibly organized. Her attention to detail and seamless coordination make visits smooth and stress-free. It's rare to find a team that combines top-tier medical care with such excellent patient service, but Dr. Nuygen and Denise nail it.
Thank you for nearly a decade of excellent care. I highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking thorough eye exams, thoughtful recommendations, and a truly caring team.

I bought new glasses from here to update my prescription and replace my old ones. I was up charged on anti-glare lenses and I paid extra for a better brand of frame. I even paid extra for the protection plan. When purchased, they sat loose on my face and before I could take them somewhere to be adjusted, they had fell off and became lost during a trip. Upon calling for a replacement, the customer service seemed more interested in trying to sell me on a new pair than to honor a replacement. I'm down upwards of $250 with nothing to show for. I won't deal here again and discourage others to as well.

I scheduled my appointment a week in advance. After the snowstorm, my child's school was unexpectedly closed all week, and with no family nearby and a cancellation fee, I had no choice but to bring my 2-year-old while I got a contact lens prescription.
Despite completing most of the exam, the provider abruptly told me to canceled my appointment because my child cried and she "couldn't focus or deliver experience ." I had driven 45 minutes, waited over an hour, and was already far into the visit. Children cry this is not brain surgery. I came to get my prescription not a damn lecture, she was rude.
I tried to calm my child and asked for a few more minutes, but the provider was impatient and dismissive. The lack of empathy was shocking. I will not return and do not recommend this place, especially for parents
It was humiliating and mortifying to be escorted out of there like that, I'm a single mom already struggling as it is. My two year old was just crying, not touching anything, not being rude, no hostility; just crying. You think she would've just get me my script and let me leave.

These ladies truly went above and beyond! I am from out of town & came in on 12/31 because I needed to use my insurance benefits. They unfortunately would have to ship my glasses out to me because I was flying back home to Chicago after the new year. WELL, they expedited my frames for me I didn't even have to ask them. They were closed for new years and they just called me this morning surprising me they had them ready for me before I flew back home! What an exceptional customer service! Thank you so much. Great staff! Very patient with all my questions and hyperactive son. The staff helped my husband pick out frames that complement his features. Buy the warranty it's worth it! Quick turn around on glasses takes about a week. They helped guide us on the basics. My husband saw the optometrist on site and said she was nice and professional. Everyone is on top of it which gives me peace of mind. I don't regret purchasing 4 pairs in 6 weeks knowing I can call them at anytime if I have a question or need help.
