You can get your eye exam here, but they have no optical center, meaning you can't pick out your glasses here. You'd have to drive all the way to Galveston or Texas City twice just for that, or take your perception to another facility, which at that point, you may as well just get your eye exam done elsewhere too. This place is pointless for those who need glasses.

I am suffering from shingles that involved my eye and was told by my dermatologist to get an immediate appointment with an ophthalmologist. This clinic would not give me an appointment for 6 weeks. I was able to get an appointment with the Eye Center of TX the next day which was very lucky for me as my cornea was involved and required immediate treatment. I could have gone blind in that eye without prompt treatment.

If you live in the Friendswood area, look no further than UTMB health eye center! I brought my son in recently for a very troubling eye problem which two primary care docs thought was just an eye infection. It was diagnosed, after a very thorough eye exam, by the excellent Dr. Khan, as a condition known as Blepharitis. Dr. Khan explained the condition very well (he doesn't rush through a visit) and put my son on an excellent care plan to resolve the terrible flare up he had and measures to help prevent such a flare up in the future. From the office staff to the excellent doctor, I highly recommend this clinic!

I made an appointment for a comprehensive eye exam to obtain a script for new eyeglasses. I obtained "a script", but the eyeglass provider could not fill the script because it was missing two important measurements. I contacted UTMB and asked about those measurements and was told they don't do that measurement there, I needed to have that done in Galveston for an additional cost. This cost is in addition to the nearly $800 they charged my insurance company. BE AWARE OF THIS RIPOFF, you will pay for a comprehensive eye exam and you STILL CAN NOT OBTAIN EYEGLASSES!

This is my first time at this clinic and my appointment took 4 hours because they were waiting on a room. I scheduled my son for an early appointment and we sat for more than 1 hour after his eyes were dilated because they were waiting on a room. From what I can see they overbook and just speaking with the other patients this is a common practice. My son and I will not be back.

Went to optometrist for headaches and trouble seeing at night/light sensitivity and was diagnosed with optic neuritis and referred to Dr. Mopuru. She rejected optic neuritis and said it was mistaken for the drusen in my eyes. Once she diagnosed me with drusen, she said I could go. I, however, had to ask that she come back to help address the initial reasons for coming in (headaches and trouble seeing at night/light sensitivity). She said as far as her expertise and this eye appointment goes, that's all she could tell me. Now, drusen usually means colon cancer (which she informed me about) but it also means early macular degeneration. She did not address how to help reduce the eye strain, what to do to try to prevent the degeneration from getting worse, nor did she ask about any other symptoms I was having. I would not recommend this doctor if you're looking for answers.

My initial appointment was cancelled by the office the day before I was scheduled due to a staffing issue. After rescheduling, I waited more than an hour to see the physician. However, the physician was very thorough and personable, and I was very pleased with my care.

Once again waiting over hour to be seenLove this doctor, but can't take this much time off work each time I have come here. It is at least two hours off work to come here for an appointment. Don't recommend if you don't have the time. This is the norm. Very disappointing since the doctor is so good.
