The ladies working here are the sweetest and very professional -- this review is not about them. However, I will not be getting glasses from this location again.
I've been getting my glasses from the same place for over 12 years, but they didn't have the frame style I wanted this time, so I decided to try America's Best because they seemed to offer more options. Unfortunately, the experience has been frustrating from start to finish.
I have a $200 vision allowance, and at my regular eye doctor, I can usually get two pairs within that amount. At America's Best, their frames start around $80, which was fine with me -- I picked out what I liked. My glasses arrived in about a week, but they were the wrong frames due to an issue with their lab. I've now been waiting almost a month to get the correct pair, and I was told I'd have them by the 17th -- still nothing.
I had planned to order a second pair before my 30 days were up, but at this point, I don't even want to go through the hassle again. It's not the employees' fault, but the company's process and turnaround time are horrible. I just want my glasses and my correct prescription without all this delay.
Every single employee was so wonderful. The lady that did my first tests was such a sweet person and we had the best time giggling about being 45.
Dr Westbrook in is always so soothing and eases my anxiety during my exams. She has a lot of patience with all her patients and is such a blessing to have local.
I won't go into deep detail but I purchased trifocals and they were not correct PD, optical center or perhaps wrong sphere. They never fitted, adjusted or checked them when I picked up (I was told they were not a doctor and did not have the equipment to check). I could not focus but wore for three weeks to try and normalize vision. Never could, went back and forth to no avail on a resolution so they returned my money back. I went to Wal-Mart in Kilgore and whole different process and very professional. Glasses fit good and I see very well now. BTW, the optometrist at Americas Best was not dressed appropriately at all.
Where do i even start.. i made an appointment for this past Saturday morning, i walked in and before i could make it to the front counter this lady screams from across the room " CAN I HELP YOU?!" i said yes i have an appointment at 10:50am, she then cuts me off and says "FILL OUT THAT PAPER", I fill it out, and then she says "go wait in the waiting room until your called".- didn't direct me to the waiting room- just assumed i knew it was hiding behind a large wall. Just absolutely disgusting attitude. I then sit in the waiting room and in the second exam room was a lady screaming talking on the phone- all about personal affairs- nothing relating to work with the foul mouth she had on her. WHILE THE DOOR WAS OPEN SHE WAS CUSSING AND HAVING LOUD NOT WORK RELATED CONVERSATION. Come to find out shes one of the techs. You would have never known because she was wearing nothing like what you'd see at a Dr.'s office. I finally have my sit down with her- she shines the light in my eyes (test) and then says nothing- doesn't do anything else- just sits there and scrolls Facebook. i finally ask "are we waiting on something??" she says "the doctor" and continues to share things on Facebook. the ONLY highlight of my visit was the very nice black lady with pretty eyeliner- extremely personable and nice, answered all my questions and explained her processes. I think she deserves a raise or a better job title- she should be up front with how nice an personable she is with customers. Needless to say, i absolutely will NOT be returning and neither will my family. I also did NOT purchase glasses with you guys because of this.
I am a manager of many employees- if my employees would have treated a customer like that they would be FIRED on the spot.
You guys really need to get a grip of who is working for your front office- I should have just walked out before it even started.
Visited store in Longview , Texas. Very limited selection of kids glasses included in the twofer special,
(2 for $89). The way kids loose their glasses and are so tough on them, we try not to buy very expensive ones, but we do care how they look and how durable they are. Plus, their prescriptions change almost every year so the is at least an annual purchase. Therefore, w were very interested in the "special" and wer told after we picked some out from the kids area that only the $69 frames were included in the special, there were 8 to choose from. That's for single vision nothing extra.
The eye Dr. at this location was very good with children, very patient and answered all of our questions.
First, the doctor is great. No complaints there. This review is about the glasses and pricing SCAM.
After I selected frames that were below my $200 insurance allowance, I added the normal things like scratch resistance, blue light, anti glare. No problem. The lady ringing me up quoted me $300 for my pair of glasses! So I asked for the original price details, plus had my side by side insurance cost breakdown to compare it to. Not only did the lady deny providing the original cost information, but even admitted to not trying my insurance bc in her eyes their costs were better... Ya right.
So I took my prescription, and left. Went to Eyeglass World by Target. Picked out another set of frames that were $189 dollars, with the same add ons. Yall, my TOTAL price WITH my insurance, was $20 dollars. You read that right $20 dollars!!!
Do your self a favor, skip this place, and go straight to Eyeglass World. They are honest and provided side by side detail of the cost breakdown. Actual transparency like you deserve to know. This lady was just trying to scam me for that commission check. Not going back.
I've been going to this business for years and have always had decent experiences until now. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit, the staff was incredibly rude and unprofessional. It was very disappointing and not the level of service I expected from a place I've supported for so long.
Not happy. They say 30 days no question return for frames. But it really is 2 weeks because they take 2 weeks to get them to you. So you don't have 30 days to see how you like the.
