Testy staff, overall tone of place is not happy--contrary to the other times I've been in. Same as other peoples reviews I've now read, they hit you with a 20 dollar "retna" exam that you are not made aware of beforehand and not asked to approve. When you finally understand that from the weird way they try to make the billing look like a high pressure sales course, if you question it they back right off and don't charge it.
"The doctor here likes everyone to have it"
"The doctor here? Or the state requires it? I didn't approve anything but an exam required by the state".
Super scammy, super cranky, not a good experience.
Also, not sure when the whole thing went up from 89 to 129, but that's a nice 30+% increase from less than 6 months ago.
Maybe they can hire happier staff with the extra.
Oh, the doctor also told me when I confessed I don't take my contacts out every single night, "you won't be seeing him grow up".
My two year old was in the room.
The same two year old he never acknowledged or said hello to before this point, even when I introduced him.
Not said in jest, or a nice need to make you aware kind of way.
Let me know there is a cornea disease that will kill me in less than 24hrs.
It seems he got his kicks from talking like that and moments later referenced how he acted as "that was my mean side".
That was nice.
Dr Cordova was thorough, knowledgeable and friendly. Selena was super helpful, professional and kind. Everyone was pleasant and attentive. Business ran efficiently and quickly. It was a wonderful experience overall
I wanted to recognize my opticians Melissa and Torrey who helped me get the best and most flattering glasses and tightening of the lenses! I was a fan of Dr. Dvorak as well, who was incredibly thorough. A wonderful experience I appreciated with this group.
Usually a good company, i have been going here for almost 12 years, this last time was not so great. I felt completely rushed, the first exam took pictures of my eyes without asked me if id like that option, which added an extra $20 onto my exam. In the second exam, the optometrist rushed me completely, only clicked through 2 slides, which all were still blurry but would not give me the chance to speak, he talked over me and basically shoved me out of the exam room. I just received my glasses with the new prescription and they are completely wrong, my eyes hurt, and i need them for driving, he should have clicked through at least 10 more slides like they usually do and asked more questions to find the right fit. When i got my glasses today, after over 2 weeks of waiting, i felt rushed again, the lady practically tossed my glasses at me, did not offer any cleaning supplies, and just pushed me out the door. All in all, it has been a terrible experience, and now i need to go somewhere else and pay for another exam/prescription because this one was wrong, i will not be returning to this location.
Went in to get glasses tightened. Took them in perfectly fine. No cracks or scratches, only a lose screw. They returned them back with a cracked lens and did not take responsibility for them getting damaged. Was told they were like that before. Never again
The only thing that was not mentioned in the phone call was the added $20 for the back of the eye pictures. So, for the exam + 2 pair of glasses at the $89.95 deal, my total came out to $109 & some change. Not a big deal but it should definitely be listed in the fine print for people who don't have vision insurance. And a wider selection for that deal would be appreciated too. Other then that, staff was friendly and very helpful. The doc was super nice and funny, laid back! I was in and out with no wait.
As far as cleanliness, maybe dust the restroom a little better.
Usually pretty reliable company. Gave me the run around for a new pair of trail contacts giving me migraines. Then didn't have any in stock, and have to wait a week. Not a big deal but it's a company made to provide vision. Americas Best Contacts & Glasses, with no contacts in stock. I have had good experiences here in the past. Not sure what's going on.
Loved coming here past few years. Unfortunately today was not an enjoyable experience. So we came in looking to get a basic eye exam we got checked in walked to the back waiting room and sat and waited to be called. Once we got called in we were given the retna test but without being asked if we wanted that mind you it's $20 for that test.( I didn't realize it was an out of pocket cost because I wasn't told upfront)
But we weren't given the choice to opt out of it. Anyways did that then the reg eye exam. We get to the part where we pay and we figured cool insurance covers we just pay our copay. No that's when the technician lets us know our total. So what I'm trying to get at is that this location from what they told us is that their dr. Requires the retna exam. We were not told this. So yes that is out of pocket.
So just double check so that you don't get an unexpected cost at the end of your exam.
