Eye Associates of South Texas- New Braunfels

Literally, the absolute worst! I don't see how any patients get anything done here. I've been calling them for months regarding a referral, which they first stated that they lost and then they stopped answering calls so finally today I drove down to the office and the Hispanic lady with the black Bob at the front desk was completely of no help at all. She's telling me that I need to call my insurance company to figure out which doctor they want me to see. That doesn't happen that way?! Just put me with any doctor. I told her I don't care what doctor I say just get me in and she said I needed to call my insurance first and do all of this. I'm like this is What the office insurance coordinator is supposed to do. I would absolutely stay away from this place. They are completely incompetent! If you can't trust the front door of staff to answer the phone or greet you professionally how can you dare trust the doctors to cut into your eyes.

2025 what needs fixing is they don't respond to emails if you have questions. 2023 New Braunfels office. Receptionist and Vivian are very nice and friendly. Excellent eye care. Very friendly and good examinations. Dr Alanis Explains everything. Clean and spacious. Very professional.....Eyeglasses dept only there on Friday.

I just left the New Braunfels office. When I asked them if they were charging me anything for the eye exam they said, yes, $50. When I told them my insurance said I was fully covered for a free eye exam I was told I was wrong. We finally ended calling my customer representative. She told the office insurance expert that I was absolutely covered. I would pay nothing. After we hung up the office person told me they would charge nothing today but that I would be billed and be liable. I searched and found it is known scam. Many companies do it. They are just scamming their patients out of $50.

Every time I come here, I have to wait about two hours. Last time I was here they even forgot me and kept skipping me until I got up and spoke up. You feel like a number here they ship you from one room to another room to another room and you're sitting in these rooms with a bunch of other people because they are just trying to see how many people they can get through in one day. Very frustrating. Also, the people at the front desk are very rude

The staff and Dr. Kavanagh were all very professional and informative. Even though the entire process was about 2.5 hours, he's a busy doctor and to see all those patients by one doctor is a challenge, but he makes it work. Love the pet's that arrive with their owners to their appointments. These pets make our wait pleasant. Thank You!

This was my first visit to Eye Associates and I was met with Dr. Alanis. She was knowledgeable and very helpful in explaining to me as to what issues I was experiencing. She also had provided me with some helpful advice about how I may correct the issue. Very clean and organized. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend Eye Associates.

Your willingness to be available by phone, even outside of typical hours, has been incredibly helpful and reassuring during critical times. Specifically, I am so grateful for the thorough and dedicated care you gave my wife to ensure she was able to have her cataract surgery promptly.

I had two appointments within the last 4 months - one to get new glasses and one for a cataract surgery consultation. Both were excellent- doctors answered all my questions and took care of my vision needs. The office staff is also friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.
