I absolutely love going to see Dr. Lavar at this place. He has so much compassion for his patients and actually takes the time to explain things in lamins terms so you can actually understand what he is saying. The establishment is nice and clean every time I go in there. The staff are so nice and professional from the reception desk to the eye techs to the checkout desk. I always have so much peace when I walk into this place. 10/10 highly recommend if you are needing an eye specialist or just wanting new a new prescription.

Dr. Travis Parker performed a cataract surgery on my left eye on August 22, 2025. I was very apprehensive about the procedure. After several pre-op appointments I felt reassured that it would be a successful outcome. The explanation of how it would be done, what my options were and what my duties were as a patient were clear. Dr. Parker always asks "do you have any questions for me?" at each appointment. The written materials provided are specific and clear such as logging the daily eye drops following the surgery (this takes 4 weeks). One week after my surgery I see colors more vividly and my distance vision is remarkable WITHOUT glasses that I have worn for 50+ years. The Vivity lens is what I selected. I would send my family members to Dr. Parker with confidence that they are in the hands of a skilled practitioner.

Dr. Tompkins is great for eye exams. Unfortunately the sunglasses I ordered from them took forever to get and whoever they get them from kept making excuses! Never will get glasses from here again!

Dr. Parker did cataract surgery on both eyes. He did a fabulous job and always took the time to explain everything and answer our questions. And the staff were always pleasant and easy to work with. I would highly recommend Dr. Parker and New Braunfels Vision center for all of your ophthalmology needs.

I had an eye emergency over the weekend. My coworkers recommended New Braunfels Vision Center and I was very impressed. They got me in same day with Dr. Smith. At arrival and check in they took me back on time. The assistant was very kind and informative with explaining procedures and making me feel comfortable. When Dr. Smith came in he also made my appointment feel calming and any questions I had he explained with no hesitation. I have good vision but will return if needed and be referring others. Great service and quality care.

Really disappointed in this place. I went initially for a major eye issue, then was talked into getting an overpriced multi focal eye exam to re-evaluate my contact lense choice. I don't have a problem with the optometrist, my problem that I have is that no one has ever contacted me for the extra trials or to check to see if these were even working for me. I was a patient/client at America's Best and had way better service there. I will not be coming back here and wasted $265 for an multifocal eye exam that was $265 out of insurance pricing with no contact lenses RX. Yeah I could have made a phone call to see why no one ever checked on me or called me to let me know more trials were in but why should I have to call and remind someone they forgot about me when I'm the patient. Obviously I fell through a crack and no one really cares. Very disappointed in the level of customer service and the contacts were not working anyway but no one ever called to follow up. Mind you this was my appointment was 4-7-2025 and now it's a month later 5-7-2025 and crickets.

I liked my doctor and his assistant very much. I've never had such an extensive exam. Glad to have it knowing everything. Doctor Parker was excellent in his explanations and I really appreciated it. I feel like Jm in good hands.

Dr Travis Parker is amazing. The entire staff was professional and kind. The experience was great and Dr Parker identified areas I need to get addressed. I highly appreciate and recommend NB vision center & Dr Parker.
