I delayed cataract surgery for years because the information I found online made me think I needed costly laser surgery and premium lenses, which were out of my budget. As my vision got worse, I stopped driving at night, and even brighter lightbulbs didn't help much at home. I even put up an LED shop light in my kitchen just to see while cooking. Each year, the sky looked a bit dimmer and greener, until I finally told my optometrist that I couldn't afford the surgery. My optometrist explained that standard cataract surgery and lenses would be covered by Medicare. He sent me to an ophthalmologist, who tried to persuade me that only expensive laser surgery and upgraded lenses would work. When I asked for the standard, covered procedure, he found that I also had glaucoma and referred me to Dr. Idrizovic at The Glaucoma Center of Texas. Dr. Idrizovic ended up doing both my cataract and glaucoma surgeries with the standard lenses and techniques, all covered by Medicare. I was really surprised at the improvement in my vision. I was previously extremely nearsighted with such an extreme prescription that some labs wouldn't even make. After Dr. I's surgery, my distance vision was nearly 20/20, and I returned to my optometrist this week for a reading glasses prescription. During his exam, my optometrist commented several times on what a wonderful job Dr. Idrizovic had done, praising both the lens implants and my post-operative improvement in eyesight, especially considering that the improvement was achieved without upgraded surgery. I can't recommend Dr. Idrizovic and The Glaucoma Center of Texas enough. Of my several appointments so far, I've been seen without long wait times, except for my most recent post-op follow-up, when I didn't get seen until almost closing time. Cataract-wise, the sky is blue and bright again, my hi-def TV looks amazing now, I can drive at night without difficulty, and I can even see the stars again! Thanks so much, Dr. I & staff!

From the first contact with Violeta, to my physician Dr I and the amazing scheduler Misty to my Anesthesiologist Dr Rich and my annestist Sonia so talked and held my hand I could not have been more pleased with my care. I have such great loe, appreciation, and admiration for all both personally and professionally!

My mom arrived by Uber and realized she forgot her phone in the car. The staff was so kind and patient, contacting myself who lives out of town to ensure me that she was okay and what the situation was. They helped keep my mom calm and safe until arrangements could be made to get her, and even assisted her in filing a report with Uber regarding her missing phone. You'll receive excellent care here just based on this interaction. I am absolutely positive of that.

I would highly recommend the Glaucoma Center for the treatment of your glaucoma. Dr. Neal is very knowledgeable and has extensive experience in the treatment of glaucoma. He stays abreast of all the new cutting edge technologies in the treatment of glaucoma. He is also very personable and tailors all treatments to each patient individually. I took my Dad to an appt here and it took them over an hour to see him. This is not professional! If you make an appointment the patient should be seen in a timely fashion. I also spoke with a few of the people in the waiting room and they said that this is how it is at this doctor's office. I am going to encourage him not to return.

The only problem I have with this office is u ALWAYS wait at least an hour - for me it was always way over an hour wait for every appointment. And there r many follow up appointments after eye surgery! This is rude and disrespectful to their patients. I understand things come up. But every time?? Seems like poor scheduling to me. Either get more doctors or refer patients to another office. Again, this is only issue I have with this office. Actually love the doctor Azra and feel she did a good job on my glaucoma and cataract surgery. But I will be so glad when I don't have to come back here!

I was referred to Dr Neel about 4 years ago, I had very high pressures and was reassured he would "fix" me. My vision is great thanks to him. I'm so thankful for him and his staff! He has the best group of people, they answer all my questions and are so friendly I enjoy my visit. As busy as they are, they fit me into the schedule yesterday, (I was worried about my red eye) Dr Neel and staff, as always, were amazing took care of me, reassured me all was o.k. and were patient, never making me feel like I was an imposition. I have been truly blessed having Dr Neel and his staff in my life.

Dr. Idrizovic and her staff are extremely thorough, personable and caring! They take the time to investigate and then inform you of current and ongoing treatment. I am 63 years old and have never received better care.
