America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I have used the same EyeGlass retailer for years, this year when renewing my prescription, due to the lack of variety of frames on site, I decided to shop around, and I am so happy I did. My very first visit and on the spot, chose my frames and ordered my glasses. They have a large assortment and the reason I decided to purchase and look no further even though out of network, was the people...as soon as I entered the building, I was greeted with BIG smiles and such positive energy. THE atmosphere was so welcoming, I almost did not want to leave, lol... everyone worked together as a team and I literally felt like when I left, I had met new friends. My glasses were ready in just a few days and pick up day was just as awesome!! I was so appreciative of the service I received that on pick up day, I brought in a couple of dozen of hand made freshly baked cupcakes to show my gratitude. I am so glad I ventured out, and I was truly WOW'd by the service I received. In thinking back, made me question, why I had not gone to them sooner... but I am very much a person that for convenience, and for the sake of routine- will not make the change- but I am so glad I did. Thanks so much CALVIN, Sarah, Anyssa, Lulu and Jimmy.... and everyone else behind the scenes that made my eyeglass shopping experience a GREAT memorable one.

Honestly the experience was made fantastic by the sweet woman who helped me pick my frames at the end. It was pretty pricy, I did pick name brand. But Lulu was so helpful, she went out of her way and kept my children entertained while I shopped. She was so sweet and as efficient as the exam. Thank you Lulu for being so kind and helpful.

The moment we walked through the door the team was very helpful! We were also helped with a timely manner. When it was our turn to choose lenses and speak with the team, Lulu G was super helpful. She informed us which frames were better and walked us through the process without any issues. Definitely will be back! The team went above and beyond by helping me choose new lenses and frames that were a perfect fit. Lulu and Lilly were absolutely wonderful -- they made sure my prescription was correct, took the time to explain everything clearly, and helped me feel completely comfortable as a new glasses wearer. I recently had to get glasses since my sight is getting a bit off. I went to America's Best. I was surprised at how fast the appointment went. It didn't feel like the optometrist really took the time to make sure things were correct before setting my prescription. After spending over 700 dollars on two pair of glasses I finally get them after two weeks. The glasses don't correct my vision fully. When I picked them up they don't even have the doctor check to make sure everything is correct. The people are very friendly and pleasant. I just don't feel like the doctor cares about his patients just how many he can push through in a day.

I have use americas Best for many years. After the treatment I received today at the location at Brook city base in San Antonio I will never give them another dime. We drove more than an hour away to make this appt and due to being less than 10 minutes late our appt was canceled Doctor refused to fit my daughter in. Staff didn't make the attempt to help either. I don't recall signing or giving an advance if you are more than 9 minutes late appt will be cancelled. Overbooking clients is the problem.

So after about 19 years of getting my glasses from americas best eyeglasses I'm writing a negative review. On 11/14/25 I picked up my glasses and immediately started wearing them. Within about 2.5 weeks I noticed horizontal scratches after cleaning them. I've taken better care of these glasses then I ever had any of my other glasses by only cleaning them with americas best cleaning solutions and micro fiber. I've never had any manufacture defects like this. So I brought them back today 12/30/25 because I couldn't bring them in any sooner due to my prior holiday plans. I didn't except junk lenses. Jesse the manager tells me they won't back their product regardless of it obviously being manufactured defects and the only thing he will do is give me a "one time courtesy of selling me the warranty". So if I spend more money they will fix it. By the way the defects are so bad that after both of the employees of Americas best clean my glasses in store they are scratched worse. Instead of horizontal scratches I now have circular and vertical scratches. That's not a good business. I've had problems similar to this and they fixed it without a warranty no questions asked because of how soon the problem acquired. Anyways I try to escalate this problem and they tell me to call customer care because that's who will be able to fix the problem. After being on the phone with customer care for 45 minutes they called the same manager at the store and told me the same thing! That's not customer care! That's wasting my time. So I called back and asked to speak to the manger Jess again in order to attempt to get a hold of his area manager Tamra Bryant and find a solution because this store process of customer service is nothing of the sorts I have been utility for the last 19 years and he insulated himself further of me having to trust that he will actually email his area manager to allow me a unhappy customer to talk to his boss in order to find a solution of his inability to correct a manufactured defect to a customer's satisfaction. Yeah, we'll see how this works out!
