Children's Eye Center of South Texas

I cannot say enough good things about Dr.McCash and his staff. Today was my daughter's last appointment (she's 18 now and graduating). She has been a patient of his for 16 years, and we have never had a bad experience. Dr.McCash saw her through patching, drops, and surgery, and he was stellar all the way through. He has a genuine interest in his patients, he is wonderful with kids, told great dad jokes and displays genuine care. It is bittersweet leaving his practice, but we are so grateful that he made every hurdle with our daughter's vision so much easier to handle, she always had a good experience in his office, even though she hated the dilation.

This office has always been exceptional! We started going here 8 years ago and saw Dr. McCash for my oldest as a baby, this was 1 year of treatment (a great doctor). We come here every 3 months for my youngest for over a year now for Amblyopia (lazy eye) and we are moving along and progressing thanks to Dr. Williams. Dr. Williams has always been very kind, funny, and patient. Our recent visit today at 10:15 am 12/08/25. All front office staff and back office staff are ALWAYS so kind, patient, and professional. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being such a great office our family can trust.

Dr. McCash himself is an outstanding surgeon and doctor and we appreciate everything him and his staff has done to help my daughter. Everything is clean and sanitary, we are always so happy to go. I wish the people at the reception desk would be more cheerful though, it is a children's eye center after all. Best wishes and a lovely experience overall.

Dr. McCash and his team were thorough and kind. He answered all of my questions and provided not only clear expectations but also alternative possibilities. Dr. McCash's knowledge and compassion exceeded other providers in San Antonio. The doctor's attention and care take time, and the process can't be rushed, so come prepared.

Hard to get these people to answer the phone. Rude receptionist at the front desk. We went for an eyelid issue and was refused to be seen due to them demanding to dilate a 2yr olds eyes. Maybe I would have agreed if we had seen the doctor first. This tells me the doctor's office and staff just wants to bill my insurance for unnecessary services when we have even seen the doctor first. I fill find a doctor that actually cares about the pageants and not billing insurance for $$$. Don't take your children here -

My 3 kids have been patients for about 8 years. The doctors and nurses are overly friendly and attentive but the front office staff acts like every customer is the biggest annoyance. They don't make eye contact, smile or even say hello. I just expect it now. They have a big sign that says not to verbally abuse the front staff, which is amusing because they act like they hate you.

Took my 18 month old for a wandering eye and it was as good as the eye Dr can be with an 18 month old The front desk aren't the most friendly or happy people, but they get their job done quickly. We waited for about half an hour before doing the dilation and then another 45 minutes after that to see the Dr. We spent longer than I would like there with a toddler but I understand. The waiting room is a good size and the bathrooms are large enough to fit the stroller comfortably. There are a few TVs scattered and a large fish tank, brought some snacks and was able to keep my son somewhat patient. Dr. Cooley was so patient, my son did not make it easy for her but she got it done and did her best to make him feel comfortable the entire time. I greatly appreciate her patience, as well as the woman working with her (so sorry I forgot your name but you were great too!) They gave us a handout with info about treatment (patching) and a few sample patches which were helpful. We will be back in a couple months!

The front office staff is rude and selfish. THEY TOLD ME AND MY SON THAT THEY ARE SHORT STAFF, SO THEY CAN'T SEE MY APPOINTMENT. We were on time, and their's are no due fees or any issues. We are their regular customers, and all our 3 kids are going their. If they are short staff they can call me and let me know. Or they can send a text that the appointment is canceled because of short staff. We call in for job , didn't sent kids to school and driving from other side of the city to stone oak and while we are at the front office,the lady is telling their is short staff so appointment canceled. We do not have any other option, because the doctor is good. The doctor and nursing staff are good and well-mannered and resourceful, and that's why we are going there for our kids' needs and wants. But unfortunately we can't accept this kind of behavior from front office staff.
