Dietz-McLean Optical - Lincoln Heights

I have been a client for many years and have always had great service. I just picked up 5 pair of eye glasses and they fit them well and got the prescription perfectly.

On 18 Nov 2025 I used the app on the website of this location to make an appointment for myself to get my eyes examined on Sat 03 Jan 2026. I made the appointment for 9:30 am with a Dr. Wiechmann. I received an email that same day confirming that I had successfully made this appointment, and another email on Fri 02 Jan 2026 reminding me of my appointment the following day. I showed up at 9:15 am on the appointed day to find that I was the only one there, and the doors were locked. I waited until 10:00 am, at which time two employees showed up to open for business. I showed them the above two emails and asked about my appointment. I was told that they didn't know why the software had made such an appointment, since they don't open on Saturdays before 10, and furthermore they said they don't know who Dr. Wiechmann is. No help of any kind was forthcoming, or even offered. I returned Monday the 05th hoping to discuss the situation with the manager, only to find that she was one of the two employees I had seen already the previous Saturday. She expressed no regret over my frustration or my wasted time, and offered no suggestions to resolve the problem. I am very disappointed with this absolutely unsatisfactory customer service experience and suggest that you take your business elsewhere. These people don't care.

I don't normally leave reviews but your optician Kayla is the best! Personable, informative, and helpful toward choices. She explains lens options in layman's terms understandably and patiently making the experience comfortable rather than rushed. Plus, the six month time for lens correction is superior to other lens makers I've experienced.

No one has ever been able to get my prescription correct. Dietz-McLean gets it correct every singe time. They are amazing.

Linda has been taking care of my glasses for several years. I won't go anywhere else. Her collection of Cartier frames is outstanding. I'm waiting for the next trunk show coming up.

Five star rating all around, from excellent customer service to getting my progressives perfect the first time on both glasses and sunglasses. I'll be back!
