We came to this ophthalmology office because our daughter has thickening of the optic nerve, and her optometrist specifically recommended further evaluation. Unfortunately, the neuro-ophthalmologist we truly needed couldn't see her until October, so we sought care here based on the strong reviews.
While the staff completed all the testing (imaging, dilation, multiple stations), the physician interaction was extremely brief and dismissive. The doctor came in once, looked at her pupils, spoke to the assistant, and left without explaining what he was assessing. We were unsure what conclusions--if any--were being made.
He returned briefly a second time to say that her referring provider should have sent her directly to neurology and that he was "not convinced" the issue was ocular, yet he did not clearly explain his reasoning. His hand gestures and lack of verbal explanation left us confused and uneasy, especially given the seriousness of the concern. He was already walking out when I tried to ask questions.
To add to the frustration, despite having two insurance plans, we were charged $68, and the billing staff could not explain why.
Overall, the experience felt rushed, dismissive, and lacked the communication and reassurance a parent expects when dealing with a potentially serious neurological or ocular issue. We will be waiting for the neuro-ophthalmologist and scheduling directly with neurology. Very disappointed
Dr Friedman is very thorough and knowledgeable. He helped me find out the real reason why I was having eye issues just with a simple blood test. Very grateful to him.
Dr. Friedman sees my husband. We changed from Dr. Scales. Best move we made. His caring, sincere, friendly and professionalism is above and beyond any doctor that we see. All doctors and his staff are prime examples of the care that should be given to everyone by any doctor and their staff. So many doctors' offices staff are rude, unfriendly, belligerent and treat you like crap. We are so glad we made the change. Dr. Friedman is up-front, tells you exactly what is going on with your eyes. Explains treatment plans in detail and concerned about our situation. My husband's eyes have improved. Thank you Dr. Friedman!
I have been in Military Medicine for 46 years and associated with a number of physicians and specialists during that time. I would rate Dr. Friedman as on of the top specialists that I have the pleasure of meeting. I had an appointment with Dr. Friedman this week for a malady associated with my retina. Dr. Friedman is very competent, explained my condition, offered all other possible differentials, and discussed follow-on plans. Dr. Friedman was polite, patient, and composed. I have no reservations in referring Dr. Friedman to anyone.

Look forward to my monthly visits with Dr Friedman for past 2 yrs. He is well knowledged and his office staff are all professional and polite. Good comraderie with seasonal decorating competitions. He explains what is going on, and treatment plan. I am grateful for his billing dept who persevered with insurance to get me on specialty medicine. Love his dedication and reassurance,as he says "I got this"! And he sure does as my vision has improved significantly.

Dr Friedman been amazing giving excellent care to my mom
Dr. Friedman helped me identify my problem which was dry eye from refractive surgery for near sightedn
ess in the 90s. He recommended Xidra but what really worked were eye plugs in the tear area. I forgot about the plugs after wearing them too many years ago. I am happy to report, my eyesight is back to normal
