Dr. Hyun Joo Chung, OD & Associates

Unless you want to be diagnosed with early dementia because you cannot decide quickly enough if "one" or "two" looks clearer during your eye exam, go somewhere else. This highly inappropriate, dare I say doctor had the audacity to ask my father if my mother has early dementia or alzheimer's in front of her, during her exam. My mother then went home and told her neighbors she had been diagnosed with alzheimer's. What a disgraceful and highly offensive thing to do to an elderly person! This excuse for a doctor doesn't deserve the $400+ my mother spend on glasses. Truly pathetic!!

I would never go back to this eye doctor. I had to change my eye doctor because I had just moved to San Antonio. I was charged $100+ on top of my insurance and co-pay. After the visit, I tried ordering prescription contact lenses online, but she wanted me to order this specific brand because that's what she "prescribed" without TELLING me in the first place. They wanted me to ORDER FROM THEM and they we're overpriced.

Rude and rushed, even though I was early to ensure I wasn't rushed. The optometrist seemed liked she didn't want to be there and was rushing me and didn't even wait for me to reply when she would ask questions before moving on to the next one, and she seemed rude to the frontdesk person who works for her. I could tell the optometrist is competent and capable, but the visit overall was unpleasant and it hasn't gotten out of my head yet. All the while paying nearly $180 even with insurance for the prescriptions, I would try another location. I honestly felt like I was a bother, if I would have known I wouldn't have even wasted my time here. Edit: changed from 2 stars to 1 star. I went back and I suspect she gave me an incorrect prescription because I didn't buy acuvue oasis lenses the way she wanted me to. She haphazardly scribbled some things down even though I know my prescription for each eye is not the same.

Rude and rushed me the entire visit. I doubt I even got the proper prescription for my new glasses given how fast she wanted me out of there. I now need a second opinion on my eye exam to be sure I get the correct lenses. What a waste of my time and money. I'll never go back here let alone refer anyone. If anything I'll make everyone aware to be stay away from here because she is the worst.

Rush and ride did not let me even respond when asked and letter or number it was before moving to the next keep saying that it was her day off and she wasn't even supposed to be taking mines clients. Must had said it was her day off about 5 times payed 300 for glasses next door just still see blurry. I do not recommend this place at all I want my free payed back and new prescription with some one else. !!! Was since on may 10th

*Dr. Johnson is amazing* I was in a little bit of a rush but she still made sure to be super thorough and explain every detail. Would absolutely recommend you schedule with her if given the option.

Very honest and explains everything. Have gone in for glasses and contacts, they've always kept me updated, and was transparent with all charges. Will stay as a client for as long as Dr. Hyun Joo Chung is around!

Been with Dr. Chung for over 14 years now love the service. Dr. Chung and her staff really make you feel like family.
