Dr. Melodie Wallace

My husband and I just had our first eye appointment here after braking up with our previous optometrist of 9 years. We chose this office for convenience as we usually purchase our eyeglasses next door at Lens Crafters. The staff was super nice, and this is a big deal for me. I am used to having my concerns dismissed but Dr. Wallace's demeanor and professionalism blew my mind - she addressed my concerns and put me at ease. What my husband loved was that they were on time (I understand delays, I really do, but we are used to waiting 30 min to be seen and then waiting another 15 after the tests to see the doctor. We thought 1 hr for an appointment was normal - we know now that it is not.) Also, when we were checking out my husband mentioned to me that his prescription had changed significantly. He opted not to purchase contact lenses today because he still has some left over from last year and he only wears them a few days a month. I told him that he should have don't the contact lense exam then, because after wearing his new prescription in his glasses he will notice the difference in his contacts and may not want to wear them. The receptionist handed me my receipt and informed us that he had 90 days to return and complete a lense exam if he changed his mind. Once again, they are all helpful and informative. I know that I will not dread getting my exam next year, I actually look forward to seeing this team again. Thank you!

Had some issues here. I had to get my eyes checked twice because they didn't get the first one right (way, way off on one eye). Then they told me the brand of contact lenses I have been using for two decades aren't being prescribed anymore (???) so they prescribed me a different brand. I don't like it, and Acuvue 2's haven't been discontinued, so I don't know what that was about. Now I can't change brands because prescriptions are brand specific... sigh. Overall, I've just had better experiences elsewhere.

Dr. Wallace is a great eye doctor, me and my girls use her and we're happy to find her. The gentleman at the front desk is always helpful and was very patient with my daughter, teaching her how to use contacts. As for the female front staff, I rarely have a good experience with them. They make me feel like I am bothering them; I think it's mostly personality quirks but these quirks are worth dealing with to see Dr. Wallace. Even her "I'm on vacation" doctor is awesome!!

Dr. Wallace is an awesome optometrist. It's been 10 years since I have gotten a prescription for glasses that has me seeing better than I did with my old glasses. I am extremely near-sighted and I have astigmatism in both eyes. I told her I had been having issues getting a good prescription and she took a little extra time and made sure I was seeing everything crystal clear. I have my new glasses and I'm seeing like I did when I was a kid. Everything is again crystal clear and sharp. I will be seeing Dr. Wallace for my next prescription. I made an appointment and was seen promptly. Her staff was friendly. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for an optometrist.

Very happy with our visit. We made an appointment via phone. Paperwork was sent via email to have filled prior to appointment. That takes away from the extra hassle on the day of appointment. Yes I put a card on file, for their cancelation policy. Due to Covid, my husband and I are the only ones in the office. They schedule your appointment for only you. I saw them sanitizing promptly. There was no wait. The Dr saw us immediately and took very good care of us. I was very happy with the office staff as well. Very professional and courteous. We will continue to do business with Dr Wallace.

Dr. Wallace was super nice as well as the staff. I was in and out in a flash. I would recommend this office as it's hard to find a Dr or even staff that are actually there to help you and not dismiss your concerns or questions. They were all very professional and I will definitely be going back!

Last year my experience with the eye care staff was miserable. The woman at the front desk was not only rude, breathing heavily and seeming inconvenienced by my visit but upon returning to the office again the woman didn't acknowledge me standing at the desk and had me wait ten minutes with my kids squirming when all I was doing was picking up my contacts. When she finally hung up the phone she gave me my contacts and upon returning home I realized that she didn't include my rebate paperwork (which was the whole reason that I had purchased such a large amount of contacts at once to begin with). There was no way I was going to make a third trip to that dusty, tiny office and wait for her to rudely acknowledge me again in order to get my paperwork. This year I gave it another chance - I made my appointment and asked if my insurance was still covered, they told me they'd call to verify and notify me of any changes before the appointment. I show up to my appointment because they hadn't called, only to be told that they don't accept my insurance, when I was about to leave the office manager said she would figure it out and since I made the trip I decided to stay and cross my fingers that she'd actually figured it out and I don't end up paying for an exam that I have insurance for. I waited over an hour to see the doctor, she came in from what seemed like lunch mid way through my wait. Then when the doctor came finally saw me she didn't say a word - she just went through the motions of the exam and sent me on my way. It was so weird. I wouldn't recommend this office.

This is the second time i've gone to this place. The first time, a year ago, the staff was rude to me but I figured maybe they were having a bad day. They were short with me, and unhelpful. Seeing as how I love the staff at the Lenscrafters next door, I figured I would give this office another chance. I booked my appointment a month in advance. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment the front desk staff (I believe her name was Christy) told me the office had no appointments that day in a very rude tone. She told me that I must have booked it at another location. I told her that wasn't possible, that I chose this one specifically because of its location. I asked her if she could check if it was for another day, again trying to be nice with her and take the blame myself. She actually huffed at me as though she was busy, when she herself had said there were no appointments that day. Then she told me I did have an appointment that day but it was automatically cancelled. She did not apologize for it or try to tell me why it was cancelled. Her attitude completely ruined any chance of me ever going back to this office. Don't go here, get your classes at Lenscrafters because they actually treat you like a person and are utterly kind, but get your eyes checked elsewhere.
