Good grief. I generally go to the Walzem location and have never had a bad experience. Figured since we live in Castroville, we'd use the more convenient location on Potranco. Big mistake. Trying to get Renee, the front desk lady, to follow through with anything has been such a challenge. I've called 5 times... spoken to her 3 of them, and left 2 voicemails the other... still, crickets. She is incredibly technically challenged... NEVER AGAIN.
After my previous eye clinic was no longer covered by insurance, I found EyeTX on Potranco--and I'm so glad I did! The entire staff, from Myra at the front desk to Dr. Aguilera and the team helping with frames, also Dory (though she needs more of Nemo's energy and smile, jk) was professional, friendly, and efficient. Booking online was easy, and I appreciated the prompt reminders and updates via text. The location is convenient, and they even welcome adjustments after pickup. This clinic truly goes above and beyond with customer care. EyeTX on Potranco is now my go-to for eye exams and glasses.
Hello! I went here recently for an eye exam, very pleasant experience for me. Front Desk staff very friendly, and the assistant aid and Doctors were very professional and very well knowledgeable of what they are doing. Everyone did an amazing job here and plus for accepting the UnitedHealth care insurance for vision here. My glasses plus the eye exam costed me around 197. Not a very bad deal in my opinion.
Out of pocket expenses can range up to 300 dollars. So it's a win situation for me, I highly recommend anyone wanting to have a quality experience in terms of routine exams and customer service.
From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out, the experience at EyeTX Vision Centers was great. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Jessica Saldivar-Alvarez was especially kind, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly. I felt well cared for and would definitely recommend EyeTX Vision Centers. They truly have a clear vision when it comes to great patient care!
I had a family member go in for a eye glasses exam, the front desk person Renee is over the top rude as heck! When I told her she over charged my daughter, and I always have problems with this office she laughed and said "But you still keep coming back!" and hung up on me...I haven't been back, but the rest of my family will not be returning
Don't recommend at all.
Front office staff isn't helpful and can be just plain rude.
When you call to make appointments, you're calling a call center: not the office. That office might schedule a "virtual" appointment where you "see" a doctor remotely while you're in the office. That's fine, except for they don't confirm that it's a virtual appointment: you're not given the option of seeing a doctor in person or seeing a remote doctor.
That "virtual" appointment took over an hour to complete. Go somewhere else for your eye care: this place is just plain awful.
This is the second year in a row. We went to get glasses for my children and they have them sitting there for a week they never call and let you know your stuff is ready. You have to keep calling every day. I called last week and checked and they said they weren't there but now they're telling me that they've been there since last week. I've been asking for an office manager since last September and they continuously tell me that they don't have one which makes sense on why this office is running the way It is we used toto love it Here they used to be on top of things and professional, but the fact that they were fully aware that my child has been walking around with Broken glasses and unable to see for weeks and carelessly just did not call us and make us aware that they were there is just unacceptable and again this is the second time this year and their excuse is Oh maybe the girl assumed that you guys got a text from us to let you know so if you think that you text or you've reached out and you have evidence that you didn't and you didn't check if you didn't and you see that they've been sitting there for over a week. Why would you not call a customer and say hey just a reminder your glasses have been sitting here for over a week and every time I asked to speak to an office manager they claimed that they do not have one it's just been so much unprofessionalism. We will not be going here anymore. We were already gonna stop going there because the lady who took care of us last year. She is a heavyset optometrist. There was very dismissive short and rude with us. My child has autism, and I was trying to ask questions and kept getting interrupted unable to complete my sentences this year, they put us with a new guy that was fantastic so it sucks that they dropped the ball again time for a new optometrist
I've been taking my son for a couple years since they take our insurance. As normal, they try to add on extra services which I've declined and that was fine. This year for our annual exam they said the appointment would be in the office but with a virtual Dr which is fine I said. They then said there would also be an added fee for dilation which I said I would decline. I was told because of the new style of appointment we couldn't decline. So, now we don't get to see a Dr in person and we can't opt out of added procedures. It wasn't about the cost of the add-on but more so the principal. I already pay enough for insurance to then have to pay even more at the office without the option to decline certain services does not seem fair to me so we cancelled our appointment.
