Visionworks Alamo Ranch

From the moment we walked in, the staff cared about us as people, not as income generating stooges. We were treated with respect, warmth, and kindness. They were so pleasant! They explained what needed to be done and when we finished filling out the paperwork, they took me back to do the eye tests. Testing staff was so pleasant, too. She explained each of the machines and what she was testing and how to place my chin, eye, or how to hold the clicker. It was a rather fun time. We went through it quickly. Then they put me in a room to wait for the optometrist. Dr Grimm walked in and we loved her right away. Full of energy and positive vibes, she came in and introduced herself. She explained what she saw from the test results (everything is perfect, of course), explained what she would be doing, and then went right into the process of determining what prescription I was going to need. She was pleasant, warm, and fun! Then, after getting the prescription, we went next door to look at frames. They set the bar high here with their customer service. Everyone was professional, knew what they were doing, made everyone feel welcome. We were lucky enough to get Kat to help us. She knows her stuff!! I explained what I was looking for and she took me directly to frames that were what I was looking for. When I selected the ones I wanted (funky and fun), she explained the different options I could add to my selection. She explained what my insurance would cover, she explained the BOGO 50% off and how it worked, also the special with the frames that had a little heat on it. I choose 2 pair - one for computer work (bifocal) and one for everyday (progressive and transitions). She was meticulous in measuring and making sure the frames fit where they needed to. She was patient and kind and extremely knowledgeable. Loved working with her. What I like most though was the team comraderie. Everyone worked so well together and everyone was so good with the other customers. I'm going to be a customer for life!

Let me start by saying that I made an appointment for my husband, daughter and myself. From the staff with Dr. Nguyen, the doctor himself and the employees at Visionworks, the experience was amazing. The doctor and his staff were very friendly and helpful. Dr. Nguyen talked us through the entire appointment and answered all of our questions. This was my first time having to buy glasses for my husband and myself. The ladies were very kind and helpful. Summer was amazing!!! She made the process so easy and was so patient with us.I highly recommend both locations!

I had an amazing experience , thanks to Madison. My glasses literally broke while I was in the store, and she immediately jumped in to help. She found me the exact same frame and transferred my lenses into the new pair in about 10 minutes. Super efficient, calm, and genuinely kind. Madison completely saved the day -- outstanding customer service!

I had the best experience at Alamo Ranch Visionworks. I was greeted immediately when arriving for my appointment. The ladies at the front desk were so kind and knowledgeable. The exam was a breeze and I felt comfortable through every step. Once I received my updated prescription, I went over to the sales side and Madison was amazing! She was extremely knowledgeable about the frames, lenses, and insurance. She explained everything to me and expressed her recommendations so professionally. I will always come back to this location and I highly recommend to anyone in the SA area!

I've had great experiences at Visionworks! Madison helped me during my most recent visit, and she was absolutely fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable, and patient while helping me find exactly what I needed. She made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I've also been helped by DJ in the past, and he provided the same level of professionalism and kindness. It's clear that the entire team here really cares about their customers. Highly recommend this location for anyone looking for quality service and a staff that truly goes above and beyond!

You should probably change your hours of operation to reflect a 9:30am opening versus what is advertised on the website. The workers at the optical shop next door were rude and looked like they hated their lives and took it out on anyone who called or approached them for help. The last time I will give this place a chance, last time Dr Nygen issued an incorrect eye prescription to me and when I returned, he told me to not worry about the side effects, it took another Dr. to re-assess and give me the correct prescription, it was totally off. Employees are lucky to have a job in this economy and should be grateful......otherwise visionworks needs a new team of customer experienced and experienced Doctors. I am out, thank you for showing us your true colors. Reported to BBB.

The person who helped me was friendly and helped me use my insurance so that I didn't need to pay much out of pocket. She also gave me her input and recommendations which was very helpful. And there was no wait - I was in and out in about 20 minutes!

Summer at the Alamo Ranch location was my sales person. She was amazing. Super sweet very knowledgeable about the glasses. She actually showed me a pair and that is the one I bought. We even chatted which is out of the norm for me, but she just had that type of energy. Great customer service. She is the best.... Go see her at Alamo Ranch..... Summer will take care of you!!!!!!
