W.E.Care Optometry - Blanco

For it being my first time getting an exam, the staff was very friendly and answered all my questions so I feel happy and confident with the service! All instructions were clear as well!

I had been to this location before however I have now learned it is a new optometrist. I went in for a contact lens fitting (like I have done in prior years) and during checkout I was charged $102. When I asked questions I was told it was a charge for my contact lens fitting. I asked why it was more expensive and was told to contact my insurance (for 5 years, I have paid $40 for a contact lens fitting). My insurance advised I was charged for a PREMIUM lens fitting and to call the doctor. The office told me that there was nothing to be done. I asked why I was not informed during the visit at ANY point that I was falling under a "premium" category, especially when I asked questions. Having an astigmatism means it's premium, which I have had for 10 years and never charged more. The woman on the phone was kind, but however nothing will be done for their lack of truth in billing again.. even as I was asking questions. I was told they have no record of me because they are new to the office and companies charge different prices (which.. sure, but my insurance is the same and companies have the responsibility of being TRUTHFUL in their billing when questions are being asked). This did not happen. I would highly recommend asking questions before and throughout your visit to avoid unexpected charges.
