Recently moved to Whickham and went to Stewart Eye care. Suberb optician gave very thorough eye examination. All the staff are very friendly and professional, give great advice and help choosing frames. I absolutely love my new specs and the cleaning spray I was given is excellent. Highly recommended!

With a demanding job, my schedule isn't always easy, yet they've always tailored my appointments without any fuss. Judith will happily carry out both my glasses test and contact lens check in the same appointment, and some of those sessions can last over an hour and a half. That's because of how thorough she is -- Judith has looked after me for over 20 years, and her attention to detail is second to none. Lisa is equally meticulous when it comes to glasses fittings. She makes sure you choose the right frames, explains everything clearly, and nothing is ever too much trouble. Even during the eye tests, everything is double-checked for accuracy, and you always feel confident you're in safe hands. What really sets Stewart Eyecare apart is how they go the extra mile. They're flexible with pricing, they help spread costs when needed, and they genuinely look after their customers. Yes, a private optician can be more expensive than a high-street chain -- but here, you never feel rushed, pressured, or oversold. They treat you like family, explain everything properly, and always greet you with a smile. I honestly can't rate this practice highly enough. Tried Stewart Eyecare for first time - doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the big chain jam jar fitters, but much prefer it. Prompt service, professional and don't feel rushed.

Had an issue with my dental loupes and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Very professional opticians, would highly recommend!

My husband brother and friend have their diabetic checks done here and all say the same! They are made to feel uncomfortable as they feel pressure to purchase new glasses from them.
