Insurance nightmare. If you don't want to be charged an extra 130 bucks just because it's associated with a hospital, don't go here (maybe I'm stupid but I had no idea about this sneaky charge). Additionally, they screwed up my insurance claim from the last exam I had there in 2024 so I thought my insurance was in network there (the billed my insurance, it was denied, never reflected on my end). So, they never billed me back (or had the courtesy to tell me my vision insurance was out of network), and now I'm not only being billed for the exam I just had, but also for the one 2 years ago. $1000 later and I'm fuming at this.
The techs and the doctor were nice, the guy helping with glasses was super unfriendly. Never going back here.
I had an appointment scheduled for 1:20 PM, and I ended up waiting for over an hour. Every time I asked, I was told "10 more minutes" or "15 more minutes," only to be informed after an entire hour that my appointment was canceled because they "don't have enough staff."
This is completely unacceptable. I left work and lost valuable working hours, I had to pull my kids out of school, and all of that was for nothing. The way this clinic operates is unprofessional, disrespectful, and shows a complete lack of organization and basic courtesy.
No one should be treated this way, and I would strongly advise others not to come to this clinic. I don't recommend it the place. 0 People who came after me were let in. I don't know if it's about racism. Do I have to speak Spanish when I make an appointment so they can let me in? I have been waiting for this appointment for a month and a half. I wasted my time and my daughter's time. I lost half a day of school because of them. They are people who do not appreciate or respect. Unfortunately, this site is affiliated with the University of Utah. They should pay attention to the bad employees there. The site needs to be completely replaced. The University of Utah should pay attention to this despicable and disrespectful site.

Absolutely unacceptable!
We waited a month and a half for today's eye appointment scheduled at 1:20 PM. Instead of being seen, we were repeatedly told: "Wait 10 more minutes, wait 15 more minutes, wait half an hour..." until over an hour passed with no explanation and no respect for our time.
Finally, a staff member showed up -- not to apologize, but to say with complete arrogance: "We don't know when you'll be seen. If you want to cancel, that's your choice."
This is beyond unprofessional. It is disrespectful, careless, and unethical.
Because of this disgraceful treatment, my husband had to leave work and lose hours, and I had to take my kids out of school -- all for nothing but waiting in vain.
This clinic has shown no professionalism, no respect, and no basic decency. I strongly warn anyone: do not waste your time coming here.
Terrible experience! Very unprofessional location. Dr. Anderson cold, rude, and dismissive. The lady that brought me back into the room also treated me with similar coldness. Do not recommend and I will never go back.
Do not go to this location! I repeat, do not go to this location! It is awful. Dr. Long is the worst Ophthalmologist I have ever met. I have been trying to get my prescription filled for almost 3 weeks and have just been getting the run around. After numerous calls and notes added to my chart, I am still without it. I have left several messages and no one has called back. I typically go to the location on Capecchi but decided to switch things up and I so regret it. Dr. Barlow and Dr. Nakasuka are the way to go.
Worst customer service I've experienced. They don't even answer their phone or have voicemail set up.
I'm a university employee, so decided to give it a chance after many years going to Visionworks in Murray. I'm going back to Visionworks, they're far more professional.
After my eye exam and receiving my prescription for glasses I noticed that Morgan Eye Center does not include the Pupillary distance in the prescription which is crucial information when ordering glasses. Since I was still there I kindly asked one of the receptionists that are in charge of ordering glasses if I could get my Pupillary distance written down. I was told if I wanted my Pupillary distance I would have to pay $20 for it.
I find this unacceptable that the prescription does not include all the important information for ordering glasses. I believe it's done on purpose to prevent customers from buying glasses elsewhere.
Mark McKay is a great doctor and wonderful with kids. I've had a couple bad experiences with Standard Optical and highly recommend Moran Eye Center for all optical care
