Moran Eye Center at Westridge Health Center

For the past week they do not answer their phones. They do not return phone calls. My chart does not allow me to set up an appointment to find out what's wrong with the prescription they gave me. It's hurting my eyes can't wear them.And they don't care. I've been us.\nIng them for years. never again

I do not recommend this place to any parents considering bringing their children here. Ms Laura was very aggressive with my son during the eye exam. I asked her to give him a moment . She kept telling him "keep ur eyes open" abt 20 times. My son is VERY capable of doing that but obviously the light you're putting directly to his eyes is blinding/hurting him. His eyes were crying and he couldn't keep them open. I told Ms Laura to give him a moment she's being very impatient with him. She left very rudely. I let the dr know and his response was "if we give patients too much time to "get ready" we will be here alllll day" in other words he condones this behavior from his employees. 0 stars for unprofessional but the front desk ladies are so cute!

Moran doesn't accept VSP insurance. I didn't find out until after the appointment since they do not ask for insurance up front unlike a normal optometrist office. So that will be my first and last appt. The appt itself went well. But I'm disappointed at the lack of transparency.

Was so disappointed at the way in which business operates here for this optometrist office. Like is so common today communication is lacking. You feel like a cow on an assembly line waiting to be milked. Once the prescription is finalized the sales tactics come full circle. Although it's technically not the University of Utah Health that's selling you the eye wear, they should make sure the patient isn't pillaged financially by their partners. "Moran Eye Center" is who operates the "U of U's" optical shops aka "eyeglass shops". This is where you are kept blind to the ridiculous price hikes in eye wear. You will think you're being treated with transparency. Nothing remotely close, but a belief that $500 for a simple pair of glasses is normal. Over $700 if you get bifocals. This is why America hates so many corporations these days. Everything is a tactic to sell you overpriced goods. It's not about what's best for the customer, it's whatever brings the maximum profits to the corporations. I refuse to buy any eye wear here or go back to this office. The service is abysmal and the prices ridiculous!! I will get my eye wear from Costco or online for 1/3 - 1/2 the cost!

Best experience my boyfriend has ever had getting glasses. The sweet lady at the desk to the right was so helpful. She even took the time to straighten out my glasses after she helped him. I will be coming back from now on.

I have the highest praise for the providers at Moran eye center! Dr. Jeff pettey has a perfect team!!! I had cataract surgery Many years ago, and had an accident recently. They have been a very attentive and accommodating staff!! If I have a choice in the future, Jeff Petty and team have my vote!

I would give 0 stars if i could.. Absolutely terrible way of handling my account! Will never return and NEVER refer anyone. Here's why I had a terrible experience. It started out nice, the doc was nice (even though the prescription strength he prescribed was not strong enough to see clearly, my newer glasses were less effectivethan my older glasses) and other workers were nice, but my experience went badly near the ending. I went in for contacts and glasses, everything seemed to go normal. They seemed nice. When I got done, I paid with my HSA account card and specifically asked if I had any other balance, since I didn't want to have to worry about a debt later, and they said that I was all paid up on anything I'd owe. I know they had my number because THEY CALLED ME a week or two later to tell me my glasses were ready for pick up. Then THEY CALLED ME again to let me know that I had some more contacts to pick up. Again, I asked if I owed anything and they confirmed that I didn't. Then, a year goes by now and I have NOT received ANY calls from them, and have not received a single voice-mail, text, email, or ANYTHING. (My phones call logs go back to July 2019) Until a little while ago, when I received a notice saying i was being taken to court for an unpaid balance. (Then why did they tell me when I was there that I was all paid up?) They claimed I owed about $80+$3 interest. Ok fine, I don't know WHY THEY NEVER CALLED ME, but they didn't. (My call logs on my phone go back to July 2019). So, I had to pay the $83, PLUS an attorney fee (the debt collector fee) of an additional $350!!!!! So, I ask you. If .... THEY CAN CALL ME FOR A GLASSES PICK UP. THEY CAN CALL FOR CONTACTS PICK UP. BUT, FOR SOME REASON, THEY WONT CALL OR SEND A BILL FOR AN UNPAID BALANCE AND INSTEAD PREFER TO TAKE YOU TO COURT!

Couldn't have been a more perfect experience! Very professional and courteous staff. Dr. Brandon is very intuitive about your needs and exceeds them. Definitely my new eye people.
