Mortensen Spencer D OD

Dr. Mortensen has been my optometrist for years. He is always professional, amiable, and helpful. I have had to have eyeglasses exchanged several times and Dr. Mortensen and his staff have gone to extra lengths to allow me to make exchanges without cost. I highly recommend Dr. Mortensen and his staff.

Dr. Mortensen is an excellent optometrist, no question and no doubt. I had an excellent experience, he was quick, helpful, kind and extremely funny. I was initially skeptical because his office was smaller and less technologically equipped than my previous eye doctor's. However, Dr. Mortensen truly knows his profession and after he set me up with a perfect prescription and the exact right pair of contacts, I was certainly at ease! The icing on the cake though was that after giving me a full eye exam, he billed it as a check up for my insurer because they wouldn't have covered a second exam this year, saving me a ton of money! Don't hesitate to come here, you'll be treated well!

An all-around great experience with Dr. Mortensen! After completing the eye exam, he gave me several options for different types of contact lenses to correct my vision, and allowed me to try them out before deciding on the best solution for me. Very "patient-centered" care. Delightfully friendly doctor and office staff. I'm very happy to have found this office!

I am new to Dr Mortensensen's office and I am now regretting that decision. Dr. Mortensen himself is fantastic, but the office staff was not so great. They charged me for contacts I never ordered, using my entire insurance benefit and then continued to bill me after numerous attempts to explain to them I never ordered the contacts. My prescription hadn't even been finalized yet. When I requested my money back, the woman helping me was snotty at best and sure that she had ordered contacts on my request. Maybe if there is a change in staff I would think about coming back, but for now, I am looking for another eye doctor. I didn't think the office staff would make such a difference when the doctor is so good, but it really does matter.

I have been coming here for almost 3 years and Dr Mortensen is amazing. Super nice, lots of fun to be in his office. He really cares about his patients. However, his front office is full of less competent people. It has taken us days to get the correct prescription to buy contacts at Costco. The Dr is great, but beware if you want to buy somewhere else, be prepared to have a miserable experience.

If I could put zero stars I would. I am new to this office and came in for an emergency appointment but this was easily the worst Optometrist I have ever seen and I will not be going back. The receptionists are unfriendly and took nearly 3 minutes to notice my existence when I walked in and when it came time to put in my contacts, Dr. Mortensen insisted he do it himself. I did not see him wash his hands but I do not think that is a common practice in the first place. I was disgusted with the whole experience. If you don't want to feel violated and disrespected, find somewhere else to go!!!

Dr. Mortensen is so extremely kind and truly cares about his patients. If you want someone with ample experience and a sense of humor (but still very professional), then this is the place to go! I'd recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Mortensen is patient, kind, and incredibly smart about the needs of his patients. He has a great sense of humor too! His staff is a plus and are all supportive as well. The office is clean and parking is available. Would recommend!
