Dr Shakoor has a great bedside manner. You can tell he cares about his patients. He explains what he is doing and why in a kind and knowing way. I admire his talent and care.

Dr. Shakoor is fantastic. He is very professional and nice and he and his staff are so caring and do such a great job you know you are in good hands. I live about 3 hours away and went to a local doctor for my first detached retina. When it detached again 2 weeks later we went to the Moran Center at U of U. I wish I had made the drive when it first happened as I think my vision would have been much better. Don't take a chance. Go to the Moran center.

Dr. Shakoor is one of the best medical professionals I've encountered. He is the rare combination of being extremely knowledgeable/talented, with remarkable bedside manner. I've had a unique eye condition that started in my late 20s - despite the vision loss being scary, I've felt immensely calm in the hands of Dr. Shakoor's treatment. Nearly all eye professionals refer over to Shields at Wills for rare eye conditions, have been there as well and the Dr. Shakoor team at the Moran center puts them to shame, we would refer anyone seeking significant care to fly from anywhere in the world to see Dr. Shakoor. We personally make the 4-5hr drive from Boise every 4-6 weeks and it's worth it each time, without a doubt. Also noteworthy, is how efficiently run his practice is - his team members all seem happy, are extremely caring, and the wait times in the office are very short.

Dr Shakoor, is wonderful. He is the perfect combination of great bed side manner and the nerdy doctor who knows his stuff. I drove 6 hours, through 4 states, to meet with him and he answered all of my questions with confidence and care!

Dr. Akbar Shakoor, MD, has been treating me for five or six years, and consistently acknowledges me and my needs. He is caring, detailed and I consider him to be a trusted part of my medical care team.
