Mountain West Eyecare

This place was a random clinic I was looking for so that I go to work. Dr Bethany was very helpful and empathetic to my situation. Not just that but her staff have been nothing but enjoyable and extremely helpful. Hands down I would recommend Mountain West to anyone looking for friendly and helpful group of people. There are not enough stars to show appreciation to them.

Best eye doctor experience ever. Easy appointment setting. The office staff makes it smooth appointment. Very professional & organized. They are a head of the curve of new technologies out there which makese feel confident that my eyes are in good hands. Definitely worth a bit of a drive out to West Valley!

I need to update my review. We ordered contacts and the office ordered the wrong ones. We paid in full. Brought back the wrong contacts and requested to get the correct ones. A month later we still don't have contacts and only have excuses and no refund. I can no longer recommend this business to anyone. Erin was amazing and helpful. Dr Briggs helpful, I can only recommend eye exams here.

A new patient but left feeling like a long time patient! 10/10 would recommend Mountain West Eyecare. Bethany and her gals were so nice and friendly! Everything was very nice and clean. I appreciate the time Bethany took to explain things and for sure how patient the other ladies were! Thank you again!

I've been to many eye clinics and offices over the years, and Mountain West Eyecare is a major step above them all. I felt the doctor and staff genuinely cared about my eyesight and provided a thorough evaluation that covered many areas I had not considered. I have finally found the place I will always return to for all my eyesight needs!!!

Dr. Gillett saw me on 1/23 and I received a comprehensive eye exam that included new technology to determine my misaligned vision in front of screens. I was also advised of my MGD (meibomian gland dysfunction) I was referred for their dry eye treatment to help unclog these glands and I was hopeful I could have an answer to my contacts drying out. After speaking with Serenity (their master esthie) I asked her to follow up with me in a few days to get my finances in order to have the dry eye treatment- which was priced at $1,000 for 3 sessions and not covered by insurance. I asked serenity I will have to cancel due to finances but the appointment wasn't cancelled. On 1/30 I came back in for a contact lens trial follow up and asked to have this dry eye treatment appt removed and was told they would follow up. I speak with Dr. Gillett about the trial contacts and had advised I would like to see what the care was for dry eye that I can do until I can afford this treatment. Dr. Gillett reiterated again how much I should do the dry eye treatment to solve this issue- which again, is not financially feasible for me right now. I ask to take a picture of the eyecare products she recommends for at home care and was given very weird run around on just buying the products there instead of buying online. One, I was in a hurry because my appointment was for 1:30 and it was a contact trial follow up but wasn't seen by her until closer to 2, when i already was tight on time. Two, the push to do the dry eye then the push to purchase products here felt like a big money grab to me. I return again on 2/1, happy with my second attempt at trial lenses and just mentioned that these work great but still dry out a bit towards the evening. I was reminded the dry eye treatment is the sole reason why I have dry eyes and any remedies done won't completely get rid of MGD. This is fine and I understood the first time- but it is not an option so I am doing other things in the meantime. Which should be enough of a reason. Today 2/10 I received a call by serenity that my glasses came in and to follow up on the dry eye appointment. I asked again to just delete this appointment, as again, NO MONEY FOR IT, and was asked if I just wanted to reschedule. I had to then just say please respect that I don't have the money for it and was finally given an "I understand". Pros- Dr Gillett was kind, caring, and took the time to meet my concerns and needs on vision and care. It really is a comprehensive eye exam as they include so many things and I've never seen my eyeball vessels up close before until this exam. As someone who preferred 2-week contacts over one-days, she helped me find one-day contacts that feel so much better than all the other dailies I've tried and hated! Cons- I have blue vision (or eyemed) insurance and wasn't given much in-network options but found this location and decided to try here since it's close to me and somewhat new. The reason I'm scoring this a 3 and not a 5 is because even with this place being in-network, it was still really pricey. I probably could've gone to costco without my insurance and it would've been cheaper. And on top of that they still tried to get me to do the treatment like it was medically necessary and urgent when it's just a "preventative". I will be seeking a second opinion on the dry eye treatment just to really make sure this isn't a money grab because it felt like a big one. Their wait times could improve. If I have an appointment at 1:30 I'd hope I wouldn't have to wait 20-30 minutes to be seen. Note/suggestion: if you are looking for affordable, convenient, and potentially low quality eyecare- this is not the place to go.

They got me in same day when I had an acute vision concern. I have never been able to get in somewhere so fast. They were very nice and took my concerns seriously and helped find an explanation. This was my first time here, but I will now be going to them for everything eye related!

Dr Gillett is quick patient and thorough. She makes her patients feel like she cares about them and has always diagnosed my eyes correctly. The staff is always polite and they are the only eye doctor that I would recommend. I have been going there for years
