Zeshan and Dr. Varela were great. Both took the time to walk me through my appointment and what I needed for my contacts. Faisal was great guiding me through the sales and rebate process. I will definitely be back to him for my future eye care. Mateen was such a knowledgeable and helpful person in helping me find my glasses. He were the best. The service was excellent. I highly recommend this office!

I enjoyed my interaction with the doctor, but I have been going back and forth with the office manager for a $400 refund for the last 2 months. I am never able to get someone to answer the phone, and I never hear back when voice mails are left. I walked into the store several weeks ago to physically follow up and was informed that their voice mailbox doesn't work and they were working on fixing it. Given it's now been 5+ weeks since this was told to me, I would have thought they'd have fixed this problem, but given the lack of answering phones or returning voicemail messages, I'm assuming that hasn't been prioritized. I haven't had the time to go back to the store in person, and given I can't get anyone on the phone, I'm resorting to a Google review in the hopes that I finally receive the money that is owed to me. I'm disappointed that I'm having to take this route, as I really did have a good initial experience with the doctor and the office overall, but this entire refund process has been unnecessarily difficult and drawn out.

The team here is great. I came in for a daily contact lens fitting and left with a prescription and samples to try. When the samples proved to be more uncomfortable than I first thought, they kindly booked a refit appointment for me. I saw Dr. Virela who was able to find a better fitting lens on the first try, and I wore the samples for 10+ hours that day in perfect comfort! Faisal and Elizabeth out front are both so fun and helpful, too! Had a great experience here.

Both my son and I had an absolutely horrible experience. I am now filing a complaint with the insurance company. Even the insurance provider has had difficulty getting them to send our glasses. They took our insurance coverage and our payment, yet we still have not received the glasses. They repeatedly lied, failed to answer phone calls, and made empty promises. To make matters worse, I recently received an email falsely claiming that I had scheduled another appointment that was supposedly coming up. That was completely untrue. This business is dishonest and unprofessional. Stay away from them!

I could not have been more thrilled with my experience here! A new patient who has only had poor experiences at other practices in the area, I decided to make an appointment at Visual Health Alexandria after reading positive reviews -- and I am so glad that I did! It's a neat little space in a convenient location, but more than that, it is the staff who make it amazing. Elizabeth and Faisal were manning the "front of the house," and they were so friendly and welcoming that I immediately felt comfortable and at ease. They both were very patient and helpful in the various roles that they performed throughout my appointment. Even though it was late and the end of the day, they were so cheerful and accommodating -- when most folks would definitely have been showing impatient grouchiness and annoyance, they were all smiles. I really appreciated their eager willingness and care. Speaking of ~ Dr. Varela is literally the BEST. She was so ridiculously kind and patient, working with me to make sure that I truly was comfortable with my contact and glasses prescription. As I said, I've only had poor experiences in the last few years -- this was the first time I felt heard, understood, and respected. Because of this, it was also the first time -- in years!!! -- where I left an eye doctor being *actually* able to see well!! My eyes are tricky, and previous doctors have been impatient, uncooperative, and dismissive. I did not even realize how terribly I had been seeing the world (literally) until Dr. Varela performed her magic, and suddenly things were clear again! It is highly evident that she genuinely cares and wants her patients to be taken care of, and does the utmost to ensure that they are. Dr. Varela is so friendly and sweet that (with the addition of Elizabeth and Faisal), I left there realizing that I had actually had a fun time! Who can say that they had a good time at the doctor's? Nobody, that's who! Until now! I am SO glad that I switched eye doctors to here, and am truly thankful for this team's work. Thank you for your patience and dedication. You guys rock!

I have yet to make a purchase here, but Elizabeth was so kind as to fix my son's eyeglasses and for free! Thank you so much Elizabeth and Visual Health!

Our family went to Visual Health Doctors of Optometry for our annual eye check-up, and we're so glad we switched! Dr. Loung, Dr. Varella, and Elizabeth were all amazing-professional, friendly and attentive. Elizabeth specially stood out with her positivity and excellent customer service. Highly recommended VHD!
