Walmart Vision & Glasses

I should have gone here first. I could have avoided the several weeks delay I experienced at another store that submitted my prescription incorrectly, twice. Here, I got my glasses in 1 week, and for $60 less than the first store. Holly and Jaden are fantastic! They are friendly, helpful, very professional and efficient. They double-checked each other's measurements for my glasses, and I had confidence that their work would be perfect, and it was. Thank you for all your help, Holly and Jaden!

Staunton optometrist Dr. Karen Schmidt is fantastic on so many levels! The minute you walk in, you're greeted with an authentically warm, enthusiastic welcome. Dr. Schmidt is very professional, with years of experience (a Walmart employee told me 19 years) and she's a font of knowledge - so do ask her questions! What makes Dr. Schmidt really stand out is her genuine enthusiasm for her job and the one-on-one attention she gives to her clients. As of this writing, Dr. Schmidt accepts walk-ins, but if you prefer to schedule an appointment, you can call or use her online scheduling service. Her office is located in the Staunton, VA Walmart. Her office has a separate entrance from the parking lot, near the vision center, so if you're like me and want to get those frames ordered on the same day, you can pop into the Walmart vision center afterward. My review is based on two appointments I've had with her - and I plan on bringing my whole family back to her for annual checkups next year.

Tish is amazing. I asked her to help me pick out new frames, she spent a lot of time with me. She got me out of my comfort zone and helped me maximize my vision benefits. I go back year after year because she is very knowledgeable and friendly.

I've always had positive experiences at this store and the girls who work here are always helpful in any way that they can be. Both Tarah & Tish always have smiles & kind words for everyone. They are definitely assets to this Vision Center.

Honestly this was the nicest, fastest and best eye exam experience I've ever had. Dr. Vest was so nice and thorough, and the receptionist was very friendly. I got my glasses script to take with me to decide later about new glasses, there was no pressure to buy from the Walmart Vision Center at all as I've experienced before in other places. I will definitely return here next year for my eye exam!

After getting my eye exam within the Staunton Walmart, I debated if I should get my frames and glasses from another establishment. I downplayed the types of frames they may have as well as the knowledge, professionalism, and courteousness of the staff. I have been to this Walmart three times in the course of four years and each time I was disappointed. To my amazement, the employees in the Vision Center were exceptional! They greeted me immediately when I entered and made me feel welcomed even though they were working with other customers. I mentioned my previous exam with the physician next door and how I was looking to purchase some new glasses but was unsure which type of frames fit my face and how my new insurance plan worked. Being retired Air Force, I am accustomed to utilizing the base's facilities. Tish told me not to worry because she would handle acquiring my insurance plan information. Tarah told me to take my time, look through the frames to narrow down my selection, and let them know if I had any questions. I narrowed the choices down to three pair, they went over my allotted insurance amounts and those wonderful ladies helped me make my final decision. I want to say I REALLY LOVE my glasses (even though I am still adjusting to the progressive lenses) and I'm happy that Staunton's Walmart Vision has such an accommodating staff to assist customers in making such an important life changing choice affecting our appearance for at least a year. Going here to purchase your eyeglasses is an enjoyable visit. Once you have made your frame selection and gotten back to them for your fitting you are treated with professionalism and are given complete attention to make sure you are satisfied with you choice and fitting. I am having to reduce the rating due to the fact that the quality of their lenses is sub-par. Apparently their lenses are designed to only last one year, forcing you to get new ones.
