I visited Potomac ophthalmology last week for a VA disability exam. The offices are very clean and space efficient. The Staff was also very friendly. Dr., Maureen O'dea Was friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about my visual health. The appointment lasted four hours, which seems like a very long time, but she was very thorough. And, there were several children emergencies that came in, and she asked me if it was OK if she took those. Of course, I said yes. How could you say no to child emergencies, and I am grateful for her thoroughness.
Dr. O'Dea provided excellent patient care. I needed a same-day appointment, and she was able to accommodate me. She was engaged and addressed all of my concerns.
I had an eye emergency and my Optometrist was unable to see me on the same day. I called Potomac Ophthalmology and they were able to see me the same day. Dr. O'Dea provided me with excellent patient care, and took the time to explain in details how to care for my eye once I left their office. Within 24 hours I could already see improvement. Additionally, the staff is exceptional. They are courteous, professional and caring.
My mother received a referral to this office. I made the appointment for her and the receptionist who scheduled the appointment NEVER mentioned anything about my mother bringing an interpreter with her for her appointment. When my mom arrived at the office, the receptionist asked her if she had brought an interpreter, at which point my mom said she was never informed she needed to bring one. The woman immediately told her she would not be seen on that day and she would have to RS her appointment as she would not understand anything the doctor would discuss with her. This is the kind of information that needs to be explained when scheduling an appointment, people have busy schedules and to be told that you will not be seen because the front office can't do their job correctly is extremely frustrating!
First appt was in June of 24 and it as an emergency for a pretty nasty eye infection I'd been fighting for awhile. I had such a terrific experience, I moved my annual from my Florida opthamoloist to Dr. O'Dea. Today, was my annual. From the check in and the terrificly informative video I watched, to the pleasant, sweet Tech who ran tests on me, to the very personable and delightful Dr. O'Dea, it was a truly pleasant an very thorough appt. I love this group, wish all a wonderful holiday season and... keep doing exactly what you're doing... a remarkable job! Thank you so much for your kindness, diligence and patience..
Outstanding!, My fist visit there was so unreal, Starting with the front desk, courteous, professional, friendly and informative. The examination was thoroughly conducted, Respectful, knowledgeable, and with care, they made me feel comfortable and important not rushed through the process as I've experienced in the past with other providers. Honest!! I give them two thumbs up! Highly recommended. I will be changing providers in 2024. Happy Holidays and God bless to you and your Staff!
The staff at the office didn't show any compassion to their visitors.
Doctor treats patients in the manner as if she was doing a favor to her patients. I was given less than two minutes of her time, After minimal attention, I was led to the front desk immediately, no chance to ask any questions. There was negligence and a severe lack of compassion.
I have never been so humiliated and treated badly by anyone like the Office Manager at Potomac Opthalmology. I was yelled at and made to feel like the aggressor and not the victim of a verbal attack resulting from my saying the word "Medicare" in a simple question I had on the phone.
I was charged by the office for a procedure not covered by my insurance. No one authorized the charges and I feel violated of my rights, being a disabled person who was taken advantage of.
I hope this review meets the standards of google. It's only one persons experience but I want to help others avoid the pain, humiliation and injustice I experienced by Maureen O'Dea and the staff at Potomac Opthalmology.
I'm sharing this experience with social media.
