I asked for brown, polarized lenses for my sunglasses. What I got -- for the second attempt at making them "darker" -- is the pair on the left. They're still yellow. The pair on the right is my previous pair purchased from Pearle Vision in 2018. Guess I'll have to go elsewhere to get actual brown polarized prescription sunglasses. To be fair, the folks that did the actual eye exam and the staff at the optical shop have all been great. I understand that they cannot control what the eyeglass lab makes. It just doesn't make sense that they cannot make a lens darker when requested to. Aren't there people that are light sensitive that get prescriptions for darker/tinted lenses?

I think they're a decent optometry office. The eye shop has been fine. If I don't like what they offer, I'll take it to another vender. I'm not sure why they get a lot of flack for things they can't really control.

My prescription had changed enough that I called my optometrist to better understand the prescription she gave me. I was told by customer service that it was the optician who explains the prescription. I had already been to the Kaiser Optical Shop three times and while one man was wonderful and patient (Scott was his name), I've now seen one woman in the optical shop twice and she was gruff, overbearing and unhelpful. Today she insisted my new glasses just needed getting used to (they turned out to be off) and at first refused to give me the reading distance prescription for readers, instead pushing for me to purchase prescription readers from Kaiser. Now I have to wait another 2-3 weeks for new glasses to come in and quite frankly I'm losing trust in Kaiser. Shouldn't my optometrist explain changes in my eyesight? Shouldn't optical technicians be open, curious and forthcoming instead of argumentative and unhelpful? Update: Dealt with another very gruff woman when I went to pick up my eyeglasses. My $360 glasses didn't include the Bebe cleaning cloth - which they are saying it doesn't come with - which has not been my experience in the past. The person seemed irritated I was even asking. I've never gotten glasses (even readers) that didn't include a tiny cleaning cloth. Overall I'm quite disappointed in my experience, although I do like my glasses despite the rather callous customer service.

After an eye exam indicating an urgent need for adjustment, we ordered a new pair of glasses in January. The optical shop proceeded to submit an old prescription on file for production instead of the new one we provided. They eventually agreed to remake them with the correct prescription, only to stonewall us for weeks. They eventually admitted that the second pair produced were also incorrect and that they needed to submit a third time, which they're dragging their feet on.

They had me on the wrong antibiotics for about 2 weeks and had me in for about 10 visits because I was not getting better. Then I get a 600 bill in the mail. Last time i went in for this issue to my old doctor, he gave me antibiotics and I was getting better after about 3 to 4 days. Kaiser dragged this out for about 2 months and then refused to budge on the bill at all even though it was their fault. I see why people used to call it group death...

Terrible selection, rude staff. Today, I asked the optometrist about the popular Transitions lenses because they had so few clip-on sunglass options (I am extremely photosensitive), and she would only say that their knock-off brand is "based on the same principle." When I asked if they were a good option for someone with my outdoor, sometimes indoor, photosensitivity, she would only repeat, over and over, "It works well for some people but not for others." So when I asked for a demonstration pair of glasses, she brings out one lens with a plastic film. All my questions were answered with repeated scripted responses, and her body language said "GTFO you stupid cripple you're wasting my time." Asked to see her supervisor and she said she IS the supervisor. Never going back.

The eye doctor is very friendly; however, they billed me twice as much as their quote for contact lenses fitting. When I call them, they keep transferring the call, and no party is willing to take any responsibility, they just simply state that the number looks right.

I had the best eye apt. Experience I've ever had here. Friendly, prompt, professional, and everyone had a great personality.
