Pacific Eyecare of Port Orchard

We went here this morning to have an eye check with Dr. Joe Trull. We picked him because he was my husband 's classmate in high school about 40 years ago. We were looking forward to seeing him, but it didn't turn out great because this office wanted to dilate our eyes and we didn't want to do it. We believe that it is our option if we want to dilate our eyes, and have never been required to do so at other eye doctors. Since we refused dilation, we were expected to pay $39 each for a retinal photo. So we cancelled our appointment and were told we would each be charged a $50 cancellation fee. We will be filing a complaint with our eye insurance. These arbitrary policies should be disclosed when making an eye appointment, not when patients show up for their exam. I feel like this is like setting a booby trap. I wonder how many other patients have been set up for this scam? We will not go there ever again.

Pacific Eyecare of Port Orchard was the best experience I've had with glasses and eye care. I've never really enjoyed eye appointments in the past--they often felt rushed or impersonal--but this was completely different. From the moment I walked in, the staff was kind, patient, and genuinely helpful, even taking the time to guide me through frame choices. The doctor was just as thoughtful, making sure to connect with me as a person instead of treating me like another appointment to rush through. I left feeling cared for and confident, which is exactly what you want when making decisions that you'll live with every day. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality care and a team that truly values their patients.

waited for 25 minutes past my appt. asked receptionist if there was a problem. She had a word with the tech who was in the hallway chatting and walking around. He directly came and got me. Not professional. Dr disagreed with techs optical assesment and then I got the hard sell on supplements and glasses provided by them. The tech who ran the OCT scan, receptionist and optical dept were very nice and helpful. They are local and take my insurance so I will likely just return next year. My wife was going to go but decided to try someone else. Maybe she will have better luck.

My favorite eye doctor in Port Orchard. I've been getting my contacts here for a couple of years and I highly recommend them. Friendly people in the office.

I've come here for almost 2 years now, and the service has been great. The staff here is very friendly and the doctors always explain everything clearly. They have a nice frame collection but it's limited to the mid-to-high fashion brands. Good location and I've never had a problem getting an appointment. I'll be back!

This spot has gone so incredibly downhill since Dr. Buchanan left. It's so disappointing. My whole family has been going here for decades, and recently, they cancelled my mother's appointment that she had scheduled a year in advance because she didn't call to confirm. My mother has never no-showed an appointment there in two decades. When she called and politely told them she was disappointed that this happened. They made snide comments and were not apologetic. I am so disappointed in this establishment.

I ended up calling 3 eye places from Gig Harbor to Port Orchard because my son being a Union Carpenter got a piece of metal in his eye. By the time he got home from work driving from Bellevue it was swollen shut. Every place I called told me sorry they were closing and it was about 3:45 pm. His eye was getting worse by the second. So my 3rd call ended up being this office. The gal on the phone was the sweetest and was able to take my son and the Dr was able to get the metal out of his eye. It's not often you feel like a medical office cares and this office did. Thank you so much!

I've been going here to see Dr. Buchanan for years, longer than I (or he, maybe) care to admit. I make the drive from Bremerton even though there are others much closer to my home. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating, and the care I've received has never been anything short of excellent from both the contacts and the glasses sides of the house. They've recently upgraded some of their equipment which helps to make the experience even better. I strongly recommend them.
