STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.
I am only returning because I have to.
My story.
in 2022 I first visited Optics One Inc for a standard eye exam.
I noticed her need to use every single machine she had and she altered my prescription more that day than it had been in the previous 25 years. I've been -1.75 since Elementary school in both eyes. Not only did she alter it, she made each eye its own strength where it had never been different prior, again, for 25 years. Making me purchase two prescriptions for contact now.
Lets go ahead and discuss this current situation.
Again, I went for an eye exam because I wanted some Ray Bans I found on FramesDirect and I needed a current prescription.
She changed one eye from a -2 to a -3.
For 30 years it had been -1.75 with her alteration to -2 and all of a sudden she found it necessary to change it to a dramatically different -3?
Not realizing how horrible of a job she did finding out what my vision was I went ahead and ordered a pair of $450 Raybans with transition lenses and scratch proof coating...it was pricey.
Super happy my glasses were shipped so quickly and I received them sooner than expected, I immediately opened up the packaging and put them on.
I immediately noticed my eyes were at different distances and the blurriness was more than I could handle. I tried adjusting to them 3 times and finally realized that this wasn't going to work and I needed to figure out what I needed to do to get the lenses altered before DF's deadline after a purchase.
Having called Optics One Inc on Saturday, I was quite surprised to have not had a call back by 1pm on Monday considering the error on their part and the urgency with my return window closing more every day.
Finally getting an employee to answer the phone I explained the issue and requested she simply revert to my previous prescription she wrote me from 2022 as I am currently wearing those glasses/prescriptions and they are perfect. Well, -1.75 is perfect, but I can use these fine.
Not only was the receptionist incredibly rude and completely unaware of how to properly handle situations that aren't typical/everyday.
Instead of recognizing their fault and getting me in the same day/next day, I was just told that I have to wait until the following monday (today is monday), a full week +1 day, all while she was completely aware I am on a deadline to return these glasses with the new script, so they can be fixed.
Refused to revert my prescription.
For some odd reason I had to keep telling her I wasn't bringing in my new glasses for her to inspect which she made me repeat too many times. Finally I simply had to say "Look, I'm not bringing you my new glasses to inspect, I only want my prescription altered to what it was so I can get my glasses and move on. I don't want to see Joanne Furukawa as a doctor ever again, I don't want an eye appointment, I want a revert to my previous script so I can get my glasses adjusted by the deadline and move on, my old script is perfect"
Refused
Now, I wait another week
Do not go there unless you absolutely have to.
I really wish I could forget about it and move on, unfortunately I have to return to correct their mistake.
Miserable. Horrible. Never again.
Visit 05/02/2023 3.25 pm,for repair the my reading glass nose pad.ask for 350.00 because she dont want to clean the glass as I understand. She want me to remove what ever in the glass ,I said I don't have tools she said how ever I have to remove what ever in there.
Zero customer support.

Shocking!!! So i went to this optical shop just to see if they could re align the arms of my bent eyeglasses and I was told that they charge a $10 fee.(uhmm ok!) . Then I asked if they could just switch my old lens to my new frame and again I was told they charge a $100 to do that. Yes!! $100, that is outrageous!!!!
So I went home and a friend told me to just to find an instructional video on youtube on how to do this. Lo and behold!!! , I did it in just 5 minutes. The experience wasn't really a very bad one when I came here but they will rip you off, their charges is outrageous! So if you have the same problem like mine, DON'T GO HERE, this place is NOT recommended. i read some of the reviews here on how they charge customers on and on and on..
Moral of the story : I'm glad i went here and I was able to find out that I could learn a skill that I thought I am not capable of doing and I SAVED A $100 too.
It was our first visit to this office and the receptionist was so nice and made my very shy little boy smile when he took the first part of the eye exam. Dr. Furukawa was so gentle, kind, and very professional. She asked my son lots of questions and did several test for him to get the best service possible.
Because we go through Medicaid we've been waiting a few months for his glasses to come in and we still haven't gotten them. School has been so hard for my boy being as he can't see. Dr. Furukawa and her wonderful receptionist comped out frames and sent his prescription into their own lab and put a rush order so that my son can get glasses ASAP and not have to wait any longer for the state to send them in. This is above and beyond and I can't thank them enough. Any other place I feel would have just told us there is nothing they can do, that we just have to wait. But this place saw how badly he needed glasses and that he just can't see anything without them, so they took matters into their own hands. We are so blessed and so lucky that we went to this office. Thank you SO MUCH!!!!
When I had went in to get some glasses for my daughter, she was nice enough to get her measurements to start the process in beginning the order. Once the order was completed, she told me that they would be in between 6 to 8 weeks. It has now has been three months plus and Didn't do very well with her customer service and following up with the frames and being rude over the phone. I would not recommend this place ever.
From the onset, the front desk service I received was incredibly disappointing. The lady at the front desk exhibited a level of rudeness, unprofessionalism, and a lack of communication skills that significantly impacted my overall experience as a customer.
To provide context, I scheduled an appointment for both myself and my husband a month in advance. Surprisingly, at the time of making the appointment, I was not informed about the existence of a cancellation fee amounting to $75. This lack of transparency regarding the financial implications of cancellations is deeply troubling.
The real issue arose when I needed to cancel my husband's appointment. To my dismay, the front desk informed me about the cancellation fee only upon my arrival at the facility. I believe that such crucial information should have been communicated when the appointment was initially scheduled. The failure to do so has resulted in an unexpected and avoidable financial burden.
Moreover, I had anticipated that your team would take the necessary steps to confirm the appointment and provide a comprehensive explanation of all relevant details, including the cancellation policy. Unfortunately, this did not occur, and the lack of proactive communication has contributed to a highly unsatisfactory customer experience.
My concern is that the primary focus seems to be on financial gain rather than prioritizing the delivery of quality service. It is disheartening to feel that my experience as a customer is overshadowed by monetary considerations.
Regrettably, based on this deeply disappointing encounter, I have made the decision never to return to this place, and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend your services to anyone else. This has undeniably been the worst experience I have ever encountered in my entire life.
I hope this feedback serves as an opportunity for your establishment to reflect on and address the issues at hand, ensuring a more positive experience for future customers.
I have been going to Optics One for over ten years. This Dr. is thorough and doesn't let you get away with anything. Great for your health! Very accommodating schedule. Super front office.
It is a very bad and ugly clinic, it is not recommended, I took my children to their exams in February and they told me that my children's glasses were going to arrive in 6 weeks and today we are in June 20 and they tell me that they have not yet arrived... super bad
