Dr. Carey helped me with removal of a chalazion and the experience was fantastic. He and his staff are very down to earth and get it.
I was fearful that, since it was a fairly large chalazion, my eye wouldn't look the same as before after but he removed it so well it looks like it was never there. the procedure was painless, extremely quick, and recovery was only a day or two of swelling that was much less than I had read about or expected. Hopefully I wont have to see him again but 100% will if I need it.
Dr. Tim Carey is, without a doubt, the best of the best. His expertise as an ophthalmologist is unquestionable--he's incredibly knowledgeable, precise, and thorough in every aspect of his care. But what truly sets Dr. Carey apart is his heart.
He doesn't just treat patients--he genuinely cares for them. Every appointment feels like a conversation, not a transaction. He takes the time to explain things clearly, answer questions with patience, and make sure you feel seen, heard, and supported. You never feel rushed. You always feel valued. Dr. Carey is a rare and special kind of doctor, and I feel incredibly lucky to be in his care.
If you're looking for someone you can trust completely with your vision and your well-being--look no further.
I strongly recommend Dr. Carey. He was straightforward with his assessment and capabilities, giving me great confidence in his ability to handle our specialty case. After listening to our concerns and working with us on our timeline, he successfully performed surgery. Our case may have been too challenging or scary for other doctors to take on, but Dr. Carey performed a difficult surgery in a dangerous location on the eye without any complications. Even if you are just looking for a second opinion, I would recommend talking with him. His experience, honesty, and skill will be of great value to you.
Absolutely love Dr.Carey and the whole staff at the clinic! Everyone was so kind and helpful. Dr.Carey was very thorough and also helped to get me seen and scheduled quickly. The results of the procedure I got done with him look PERFECT. Highly recommend them, 10/10!
I had ptosis surgery with Dr. Carey this month. He did a great job and everything went well.
Dr. Carey saved my eye. I worked with him over 4 years while we monitored a tumor (cavernous hemangioma) growing behind my left eye. Dr. Carey explained my options and helped me weigh the risks while we waited to see if the tumor would continue to grow or stop. When the tumor began to interfere with my daily life we made the decision to operate -- he was transparent about the risks and the surgery was more challenging than any CT or MRI scan revealed but Dr. Carey expertly removed the tumor. I'll always appreciate how direct Dr. Carey communicated with me, often telling me information that was hard to hear but needed to be said. Not even two weeks out of surgery and I'm seeing (and feeling) better than I have in 4 years thanks to his recovery plan. I'm very grateful for his staff's excellence both pre and post surgery.
Tl:dr: Dr. Carey is good, and if you want to support a local practice, he might be the right doctor. Because they are a small practice, they outsource the billing, and the service they use for it is absolutely horrible.
I saw Dr. Carey over a year ago for an eye exam. At the time, I thought it was fine, although I did have to pay full price for the contact lenses I ordered, and needed to contact my insurance company to be reimbursed for those. Ultimately, because it's a small practice, I was fine with that though.
Fast forward a number of months and they start sending me a bill for a little over $300. I was a little surprised, since they had told me that they accepted my insurance when I went for my appointment. And I showed up at the office a month later and paid full price for my contacts and had to get it reimbursed.
So I called the number they listed on the bill during business hours. Nobody picked up but I left a message. I repeated this again the next month when I got the bill again. I called 4 times in total, and never got called back.
I eventually called the office and left a message, but decided to go in 2 days later since I hadn't heard anything. The person working was very friendly, and told me that they had indeed gotten my message, but he hadn't wanted to return my call until he had an answer, and he also was still waiting to hear back from the billing side. He tried calling the direct line again while I was there, and was also unable to reach them.
I don't blame Dr. Carey or his office personally with the problems trying to reach billing, but they should rectify it if possible. I'd be happy to refer him as a doctor to anyone once they figure out the billing problems.
I have been suffering an eye issue for many years. Was never able to get in front of it. A lot of discomfort and eventually I was referred to Dr Carey. Let me tell you that he is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
Dr Carey is a consummate professional. He explained everything that was going to transpire in a way that I understood. I looked forward to this extensive surgery with a calm mind. The day after surgery there was no bruising, or puffiness. All of the visits that followed have been nothing less than a kind and caring deamenor. Without a doubt I would STRONGLY recommend Dr Carey for anyone with eye issues. No matter where I lived he would be my first choice. To say he is nothing less than phenomenal is an understatement.
I'm forever greatful I found him. Heart felt thank you Dr Carey
