Came there today on New Year's Eve; 5 minutes' wait, but it was worth it. Pam was so helpful and nice. She also offered to replace the eyeglasses pad at no cost. What a good service!
The frame price was written on the glasses, and she also calculated the cost so we knew the price after insurance.
Talk about good customer service these people are the very best!!! So friendly and patient and it was my first time scheduling and doing all this by myself as a college student and they walked me through everything and they were very honest in my evaluation. Shoutout to Pam the optometrist, if you need a laugh or a smile make sure to have a conversation with her!
I've been getting my annual eye exam done by Dr. Chin at City Eyeworks for the last four or five years. Dr. Chin is incredibly personable, patient, and well-versed in all things related to eyes. My eyes have gotten pickier about contacts, and she's always willing to work with me to find me the best options. When I brought up an issue I was having, she was well-versed with current research on the topic, offered a number of possible solutions for me try, and helped me decide when I would want to escalate to my PCP or other care professional. In addition to Dr. Chin being top-notch, the other staff members that I've interacted with at City Eyeworks have been both patient and caring. Would recommend.
City Eyeworks was fantastic! The staff and doctors were super friendly and made the whole experience really enjoyable. They have an awesome selection of glasses--everything from fun, unique frames to classic styles. I highly recommend checking them out, and I'll definitely be going back!
I have been seeing Dr's Takeda and Chin for over a decade. They are very patient centered and go above and beyond at every visit by listening to my needs and helping me make informed decisions on my eye health.
Emily is amazing with insurance, scheduling, and customer service. When I see the staff it never feels like a routine eye exam. I always feel seen.
They also have a great selection of eyewear. I highly encourage supporting this local business. 10 stars.
Rating is just regarding the shopping experience for glasses, no experience with an eye exam here. Front desk people seem nice, but I only exchanged a couple of words with them, but I think they're probably great. When picking frames I did have a feeling of "Hurry up and choose", and had to advocate for myself via contacting my insurance to clarify I could just buy frames here due to me not wanting to use the essilor/transitions brand for lenses, because they said they didn't allow people to buy just frames with insurance but in the end I actually could which saved me around $200 by calling them and using my benefits. In store, it was more personable vs. emailing but by not a whole lot. When I did ask if I could get the pair I was wanting to purchase fitted to my head to make sure, I was told it pretty much already fits and that a different shop could do the fitting instead where I'll be getting lenses. I did have a list of 5 types of measurements I'd like to have to have a perfect fit, but it was brushed off, although you'll probably be hard pressed to find other opticians that would go that extra mile either. But it's things like that matter if you're spending hundreds or over a thousand dollars for frames or complete glasses and it makes a huge impression on people if you do that or as much as you can for them so their vision and comfortability or decision in buying is the best it can be.
Dr. Pamela Chin is such a kind, thorough, and knowledgeable optometrist and the front desk staff are all wonderful and professional. She really takes the time to explain and also gave me a ton of great advice for prevention of ocular conditions even for my family members. I feel so fortunate to have found this practice!
Everyone at City Eyeworks, from the front desk to the medical assistants, to the doctors, to the folks helping pick out glasses, is kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their new office is also kid friendly and very up to date. I've worked with both Dr. Taketa and Dr. Chin, and they both were very knowledgeable and talked me through what was happening with my eyes. They also caught a more serious condition and recommended a specialist in the area that helped me resolve it. I would definitely recommend this to those who like a calm family friendly experience with Dr.'s who are really good at what they do and are happy to answer all of your questions.
