If you need to update your prescription and get a quick eye exam PLUS get some great frames at Davis then go to Dr. Tom for one stop shopping. His office isn't the fanciest or most modern but it gets the job done, just like him. He's not warm and fuzzy but he is competent and will get you in and out quickly. I have a pretty basic prescription and good health so I can't speak to how he treats more complicated situations but for me it's just fine.

The girls running Dr. Tom Jerry's office are beyond incompetent. In the course of getting a simple eye exam and contact lense prescription i was mis-scheduled twice and charged the wrong amount for my lenses. As a result I had to wait an extra month for my lenses and come into the office two additional times to work around their mistakes. Dr. Tom himself was professional and very knowledgeable, however the female doctor I saw for a subsequent checkup was impatient, rude and condescending. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere if you value your time and sanity.

I've gotten frames for years from Davis Optical and had nothing but good experiences. I needed contact lenses, so I saw Dr. Tom. Dr. Tom while knowledgeable and prompt, didn't seem very personable or willing to give much time to listen to my thoughts on trial lenses I had tried. To each their own, Dr. Tom is good at what he does, but my experience with him felt rushed. The reason I give such a low rating, though is because of the women running the front desk. One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had! When it came time for my followup appointment after using the trial lenses they had given me, they asked me to reschedule my appointment a total of THREE times! I needed those contacts for a sporting event, and what should have taken a week or two literally took a month. The final straw came when they gave me misinformation of what my insurance covered. On my initial visit, I was told that my insurance would cover the exam and all but $19 of a 6 month supply of lenses. On my final followup, after confirming the lenses are a good fit, I got to the front desk and am told that I owe $140 for the 6 month supply. I informed them that they had told me on my initial visit that that was covered by insurance. They insisted that was not the case and nonchalantly apologized for the confusion. I decided to not buy lenses and had them print me out a prescription. I later texted (they communicated with me via text by the way) saying that I would no longer do business with them due to the rescheduling and misinformation on my insurance covered. The response I got? "Ok, sounds good!" No care, no accountability. I suppose if you want frames, the people working there will care about you as a customer, but don't expect that if you are working with Dr. Tom's front desk.

I have been going to Dr Tom for over 15 years. He is very good at his job and makes sure you have all questuons answered. Every year my husband and I have our eyes checked and never have had a bad or mediocre experience.

I really like this place and Dr. Tom is the only doctor I trust, I've been a patient since 2004. I left for a couple years because of my insurance and the other doctor was a total fraud. So I came back here again even though my insurance doesn't cover Dr. Tom's care.

Refuses Apple Health insurance for no reason... "we just don't" she said
