UW Medicine Karalis Johnson Retina Center at South Lake Union

I looked forward to this appointment, considering UW had developed an entirely new center specifically for retina treatment in the 14 years since my initial retina injury. My intial and altogether very brief appointment left me feeling like I was on a 'collect my insurance and push me out the door' treadmill. I received no new information about the damage to my retina that I had not already heard before in 2011. The response I came away with, at least according to the retina specialistat UW Medicine Keralis Retina Center, is that in regards to any updated treatment for my ruptured retina, nothing has changed at all. My assigned provider was Dr. Nathan Agi. He is supposedly part of UW Medicine faculty, which I take to understand is that he is responsible for teaching other future retina specialists. I hope I'm wrong in my understanding of this situation. I am extremely disappointed with this clinic. As difficult as it is to even get an appointment, and as long as patients have to wait to get in, being given the bum's rush out the door after a very short appointment, and add to this that it started late and I was the first patient of the day, I felt like the supposed "experts" running this clinic are nothing more than charlatans. My post-appointment MyChart exchange with Dr. Agi fared no better. I'm under the impression that he really just did not care about me as a patient, nor did my condition matter to him.

Clyde is incredible, committed and compassionate in what is clearly a world class very busy clinic! Thank you for getting my husband in for his urgent uveitis needs!

It is a new facility that opened January of 2019.
