Bella Vision

First time using Bella and last. It was a close location, got an eye appointment right away and was in my insurance network. I felt like "cattle" being pushed along to fill out paper and do a very quick non thorough exam. The front desk was not pleasant to talk to, the basic eye exam was so quick and did not seem well done. When the final eye dr examined me, flipping through lenses asking which was best with an attitude of just going through the motions it did not seem professional or well done. Also every glasses frame options seemed way out of date and horrible prices even through insurance. On top of the whole bad experience My New Prescription was wrong!! The actual prescription numbers were horribly off and made my vision much worse. Americas Best is Way Better in every way and using there eye prescription details got new glasses that actually help... No good all around besides convenient location. Not worth it at all!

I went through an eye exam at their location. my first exam was for glasses only. I do not have any complaints with the doc. He did what he was supposed to do and provided me with a prescription. When I went back about 3 months later for my contact lens exam, he provided similar service. No complaints there. However, when I went to pay my copay, I was told that the doctor gave me a discount on multifocal contacts however, I had to pay an additional $70 for ROOM CHARGES for a total of $110 (including the 15% discount)!! Since this is the first that I had ever heard about any doctor's office charging for room charges I disputed it. They subsequently retracted that statement and told me that since I did not come back within 30 days after I had the exam for my glasses, they are charging me the extra $70. When asked, they could not show me that condition anywhere in the policy for contact lens that they had handed over to me before the exam. All it says is that "Contact lens prescription must be finalized within 30 days to avoid additional charges" (see image below of their policy. No where does it say that I need to get my contact lens EXAM done within 30 days of my glasses exam!. So after I refused to pay and asked for the manager, they got back to me a week later saying that they will no longer be giving me the discount on the mutlifocal lenses and gave me a new bill for $70 Needless to say, it was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. It was very clear to me that they are not upfront with there pricing, they make things up on the fly just to fleece their customers. Not something I would expect from a reputed company like Bella Vision.

Bella Vision has two things: Optometrist and Eyewear store On the optometry side, this shop seems to well equipped witha lot of brand new machines and my VSP insurance covered both an eye exam. On the Eyewear side, the store is an overpriced run of the mill shop. They charge for progressive glasses with VSP $270+ and the person told me without insurance they would be $600+. Further, the machine that measures PD was off by 2 mms compared to my other prescriptions. I am not sure how they come up with these prices because I can buy online glasses which are made by Luxotica with the same treatment for $100 including frames. So, this is the reason for the 2 stars.

I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive number of tests they went through for my standard exam. The staff were also quite professional, and my eye doctor was very nice. She was happy to explain what each test was for, and kept the mood light but professional as we ran through everything. They also had a nice selection of frame styles, and they're right next to a smoothie joint (which I definitely took advantage of) as well as one of my favorite grocery stores, so it's basically the ideal location plus a reassuringly through exam and pleasant experience. I will definitely be back.

My 1-star is for their contact lens supply and delivery, not the doctors I saw. I found the doctor I met highly professional and very helpful. I've been lied to and misled by the representatives of this shop to retain business and I wouldn't trust their promises of 'you'll get this by date x'. They'll give you any excuses to say why it didn't happen and keep you on the hook just enough so that you don't go to competitors. On my phone conversation with them a week before leaving the country for a month, I explicitly gave them my flight details to check if they can get me my contact lenses by then. They first gave me an excuse that the supplier had a back order for a few months and then immediately reversed their stance once I called Costco and found out I could get the same lenses from them in two-three days. They then said - we'll charge you an extra $80 fitting fee if you order it from someone else. What? I said I don't care about the cash, I need someone who can get me the lenses before I left next Friday. I requested them to remove a hold on my vision insurance if they can't promise me a delivery date, which they gave excuses for, ultimately saying they need the doctor's approval. After talking to the doctor, I was told that I should try two different pairs of lenses and give them an order by Tuesday so that I can get my lenses by Thursday or Friday. I assumed they finally had their act together, and followed the timeline they wanted. I call them for a status check on Thursday, one day before my scheduled flight next morning, to find out that the lenses won't get there until after my flight. While I'm willing to give anybody the benefit of doubt of miscommunication for a one-off thing, their egregious conduct and repeated lies qualifies them for a 1-star.

I'm sad to see so many low ratings. I have been to Bella Vision many times over the course of a decade for my vision needs. They have always done an amazing job with everything! Great doctor, customer service, and selection of frames!

Overall, my experience here was great. It was easy to make an appointment online. I did not wait long after I arrived. The assessment was thorough and the staff were very kind. I ordered glasses and they arrived in just 1 week. Only reason for leaving off a star is due to the provider being less than personable/friendly. But overall, I am pleased.

I have been going to the Woodinville location for three years. The staff is professional and friendly with a wealth of knowledge on types of lenses and frames. They have a good selection to choose from and the staff is very patient when choosing the perfect glasses. The doctor was nice and informative. I definitely recommend this location.
