Regional Eye Associates

Regional Eye in Bridgeport did a wonderful job with my father-in-law's cataracts -- he went from seeing like an 84 year-old to a 20 year-old. It was a great experience and we especially appreciated the help from office manager, Roberta Kozul!

I want to give a shout out to "Regional Eye Associates". ". I was having eye problems and at the appointment last week Dr Bardes found a tear in my retina. She had me prepped for lazar surgery. It didn't hurt but it helped. The Dr said I could have lost my sight in my eye. Monday I went back and Dr Miller checked my eye and said it looked good but not to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk and to take it easy for one month. If anyone needs an opthamalist you can not go wrong with Regional Eye Associates.

If I could give less I would. I went today (for the second time) to pick up my glasses. After I had to come back for a "resight" after my first pair was wrong. And would you believe... They were wrong again. So now I am waiting on a third pair of glasses. It's a good thing the ones I got from Walmart 3 years ago were right the first time. I can still see better out of these old beaters than the two "new" pair I have received from here. " We will just have to order them again" was the only explanation I got. No apologies, no discount, no since of accountability. Hopefully third time is a charm. I just shook my head and walked away. Seriously?? Do better! You had one job. Give me the correct glasses that I came for. Some people work really hard for the money and everytime we have to come back is time away from work. And some of us need to see to preform our jobs safely and efficiently.

I just want everyone to know what an amazing place this is. My mom had a stroke a few years ago and has some issues with speech and cues. Dr Miller and his staff are phenomenal with her. They help her to do her best and make her feel very comfortable. They have worked with her on ways to show how well she can see since the traditional tests are a bit harder for her. Each and every nurse we have encountered have been very sweet and helpful to my mom. I honestly can not say enough good things about them. We appreciate them more than they will ever know.

I take my husband here he has many issues with his eyes caused by diabetes, Dr. Gamponia and Dr. Miller are both awesome doctors, but, my husband had a drastic change in the vision of his "good" eye to the point he could only see shapes and colors. We called to get him in asap and they made him an appointment for the same afternoon. We have a 2 hour drive to get there, the doctor that was available and seen him was very rude and unsympathetic, if you don't have the time or patience to folks that are going through something that is traumatic to them, then maybe your not in right setting for your occupation.

This review is based solely on the front desk staff. (Two of them in particular ) I recently started taking both of my elderly parents to the Bridgeport location due to their doctors retiring. I took my mother for a visit to get cataract surgery scheduled. While waiting on my mothers turn I overheard two of their front desk workers making fun of an elderly woman's hair and commenting on how she must not have a mirror at home and that working their was quite similar to working at Walmart. This lady was 80 years old, alone and seemed to be possibly suffering from a mental illness. To laugh and bully her appearance was nothing short of hatful and mean. As grown women working in a professional environment I would expect them to have some decency and empathy for the elderly there who may just not have anyone at all to help them. It doesn't cost a dime to just be kind I reported this to Dr Wood and he was and always has been amazing. Said he would take care of it and apologized for their behavior. To the women that did this I would recommend rethinking working in a professional environment because it seems as though you were never taught to have manners and to respect your elders. You should absolutely be ashamed of yourselves and maybe take a good hard look into that mirror and judge yourselves for once. Disappointed to see ladies of your age bullying a helpless older lady. FYI, Walmart seems to always be hiring. Maybe you should think about working there instead. And I hope nobody ever treats your parents the way you treated that sweet lady.

I had my appointment with Dr. Gamponia on Monday. I was treated with dignity and respect by each person I dealt with during my appointment. My appointment went very well. My eyes were checked on several tests and things that were going wrong on my previous visit were much improved. I am very thankful to Dr. Gamponia and his team for being so thorough and helpful. Regional Eye Associates is a great place to go to get the help you need to keep your vision on track.

I have been coming to Regional Eye Associates twice a year for well over 10 years now and have never had a bad experience. I have always been treated extremely well and very courteous with short wait times. I miss Dr. Genin as he was an excellent eye doctor. I now have Dr. Wood and am extremely pleased with him. I highly recommend Regional Eye Associates.
