My first examination was in 2024. The examiner was wonder as well the optometrist. With the rest of the staff, it was okay but those who answer the phones are not so friendly and helpful. Next and last examination was in September 2025. They billed my work insurance and told me that I have to pay out-of-pocket or wait for my insurance to pay in October for eye glasses. My vision change drastically. So, I was anticipating the eye glasses. I multiple disabilities and was utilizing the help of an organization that help people with disabilities with job retention. This includes helping people like me get eye glasses. Authorizations were sent by the organization several times. I called and did not get anywhere at first. Finally they told me to come in for fitting. I went on a Saturday after a holiday in January 2026. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Then came the billing questions. I explained that the organization will pay the difference from my insurance. They had found the organization's faxed authorization. When I say they, this included the manager. I had the impression everything was okay but have not hear from them. I finally called them the middle of February 2026 and they said that they are no longer vendors for the organization that I was in. The organization called and confirmed that they no longer deal with the organization. I called for my medical records and prescription to be mailed to me since I do not have transportation. This was the morning of February 26, 2026 and I was denied my request because they do not like to mail the records. Of course, I am disappointed with the lack of communication and the months of waiting.

Always had a decent experience here especially on the lens side. Never tried to up sell me on my lenses, but you get what you pay for. I first went midrange lens price but could not handle the progressives a few more dollars made a world of difference! Any issues I had was taken care of right way. Jessica on the lens side is awesome any issues she takes care of you best she can appreciate the service and honesty when picking out frames.

My experience: -Go for first appointment (everyone was nice) -pick up first pair of glasses -bring first pair back to have them tested, the lenses don't match my prescription so they reorder -go back in to pick up second pair -call in about the prescription seeming wrong, I'm told my husband can bring in my glasses to have lenses checked before they schedule me for another eye test -husband brings the glasses in and they test as the correct Rx. They tell him I need to go in so they can measure my pupil distance before I can get scheduled for another test -I go in. They tell me my pupil distance was incorrect and order another pair -I pick up the new pair and have an employee check the lenses before I leave -a week later, I call and let them know I need to schedule another test since the glasses still aren't working well for me. I'm told I have to bring them in again. I explain that I've already been in a bunch of times and to avoid this very situation, I had the employee check the lenses before I left with the glasses last week. I'm told I have to bring the glasses in anyways to be checked. Next time I will go literally anywhere else, this has been a horrible experience all around. Why isn't it standard practice to check the lenses before sending patients away with them?

Yesterday I had an appointment at My Eye Doctor and Tammy helped me buy my new glasses. She was very kind and patient, explaining everything I needed to know in detail, including what my insurance covered--something I had no idea about! It was the best experience I've had, and I really enjoyed visiting the Charlestown, WV office!

The front office staff was friendly & welcoming, but the provider I was seen by was a total see you next Tuesday! Her dismissive and unprofessional demeanor made it difficult to feel heard or respected as a patient. When she recommended a specific type of contact lens that requires a particular solution, I expressed concern due to previous allergic reactions to contact solutions. Unfortunately, my concern was brushed off, and no alternative options or solutions were offered. This was especially frustrating given that we previously had a negative experience with this same provider when she treated my stepdaughter. Based on these repeated experiences, I would not feel comfortable seeing this doctor again.

Everyone was great. Tammy was incredible. She was very patient and a great help in finding frames that looked good with the shape of my face and price with and without insurance. She is a blessing and great asset to the Charles Town, WV location!

Unfortunately this was the dirtiest eye doctor location I have ever been to. Granted my appointment was later in the day, but the entire place seemed like it had not been cleaned in weeks. There was dirt and debris everywhere in the waiting area (including dirty bandaids), the walls and doors had streaks of dirt all over them, and the bathroom had visible roach traps. Horrific from a sanitary perspective, and the doctor herself was not kind and I was not impressed. Do not recommend this location to anyone in the area.

I want to very positively review our experience with the optician tech Tammy. She was quite helpful, informative and patient in processing our order for new glasses.
