Somya Chowdhary

My 13 month old just saw Dr. Chowdhary for the 1st time and she was amazing. She kept my daughter calm through speaking softly and playing with her. I really appreciate her taking the time to show me as well as explain everything that she was doing, the condition my daughter has, and the procedure to correct it. Very thankful that she is my daughters Opthamologist!

I feel very lucky to have Dr Chowdhary as my son's eye doctor. He was diagnosed at 4 years old with Intermittent esotropia. He is now one year out from surgery and doing wonderful. She has taken care of my son's eye condition from the beginning of his first visit with her. She does wonderful with my son during visits and explains everything while she doing his eye exams. Dr Chowdhary & her staff are the best, and very professional. Her staff works well with her & speak highly of her & her expertise in her field. I recommend her to all my family & friends to see her.

I have never left a visit with Dr Chowdhary feeling more should have been done. She always makes certain my husband & I know what is going on, what each test result is & why it was done, answers mine & my husbands questions so that we completely understand everything. She expesses her concerns to us & we do the the same with her. We respect her & feel she is the best. I am improving as much as can be expected & know everything that is possible is being done as she wants. Her staff works well with her & speak highly of her & her expertise in her field. I recommend her to all family & friends to see the best get the best doctor which in our opinion is Dr Somya Chowdhary.

I am very thankful to Dr. Chowdhary for helping me with my eye problems. Her and the nurses and surgical team did a wonderful job. After two years of eye problems I have wonderful eye sight. I will always be thankful for all she did

I had my first visit with Dr. Chowdhary today.. I had a pretty solid ideal as to what the problem was, but she ran the proper tests and confirmed that I infact had optic neuritis from a autoimmune condition, that has effected the vision in my right eye.. The nursing staff at the WVU institute and technicians who conducted the tests, were all very friendly and quick but efficient.. It was a great experience, and I'm glad to have her as a part of my neurology/Opthalmology team

If I could give 0 stars I would. She told me that I have psychological issues and that's why I can't see out of my eye after wasting my time for 3 1/2 hours with the 10 minutes she spent with me. Also told me I'm fat and all my health issues will go away if I lost 30 pounds. Mind you, I've had all kinds of testing done to that shows exactly what the problem is. I went to her because I was assured she would initiate treatment. Now I'm just hoping I don't have permanent vision loss and other issues arise from having to wait longer for an appointment elsewhere. Don't go see her. A waste of time and honestly just makes you hate yourself because she doesn't have anything else to do. If you can get an appointment within a week, clearly there is a reason. If you can - wait for someone else. If you can't - go to the ER

She's absolutely an amazing Dr. her and her staff are all wonderful. She truly made me feel cared about and took the best of care.
