My spouse and I chose Milwaukee Eye Care for its convenient location, but after our recent visit, we are reconsidering. A few years ago, I noticed the judgmental and haughty attitude of the front office staff, but the doctor at that time was caring enough that I returned this year. This time, I was assigned Dr. David J. Weis, whose reviews looked great--but our experience was awful. He was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to answer questions. His judgmental tone made us feel small and unwelcome. I'm not sure if he was having a bad day or if something else was at play, but I could not ignore the possibility that bias played a role. Visiting a doctor's office is a vulnerable moment, and no patient should leave feeling belittled or disrespected..

A graduate of Marquette University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a graduate of Illinois College of Optometry, where he earned his Doctor of Optometry. Dr. Weis loves providing comprehensive eye diagnosis and treatment to his patients of all ages! His work has taken him to Nome, AK where he provided eye care to native Alaskan villages, Costa Rica while apart of numerous mission trips, and to the Nevis Eye Care Program where he helps restore sight to underserved populations worldwide.
