Oh my gosh, the one star rating was a mistake. I saw the app pop up, asking for a rating and I was busy at the moment and must've hit save instead of exit or something. We love Dr. Petrick and have been coming here for years. Happy with the doctors and service.

I have been going to Shopko Optical for 5 years. My in person experience was fine. I was able to get my eyes examined and everything seemed fine. My latest experience has been a hot mess. First, this was a virtual appointment. Second, this was the first time I was planning getting bifocals. Third, this was also the first time I was going to try contacts. I was able to get a prescription for progressive lenses and then they got me a trial for contacts. Since it was my first time with contacts they gave me a tutorial when the contacts came in. The technician gave me a generic tutorial on how to get the lenses in. She watched me struggle for 45 minutes without commentary. I would struggle to get them in for the next few days. I then watched a YouTube video that actually showed me the right way to put them in. Shopko employees were no help. Then I could read with the contacts but they weren't helping my distance vision. I thought maybe it would take a week or two to adjust. When I went in for my check-up, the virtual doctor told me the contacts were just for reading. I asked if they had bifocal version of the contacts and the doctor told me it was either or not both. I said I wanted to try the distance. (It does seem there is an option online for bifocal contacts, but what don't know.) If I only had one option, why would I choose the option that doesn't help me drive? They never asked, they decided for me. They ordered me the trial pair of contacts so I could actually use them. I came back to pick them up and set another appointment. At that time they said they already checked my eyes and would not need them in. I came in today without them in, because one tore. They now said I needed them in. They would order me a new trial set. I really have had enough of Shopko Optical and their virtual appointments. The staff is not helpful, they drag things out, they do not communicate effectively or accurately, and I cannot believe how much of my time I wasted with this. It is going on 5 weeks of messing around and they made me feel like I'm the idiot. I would encourage you to go to an in-person doctor that cares. **Update - Sage, an acting manager, went through the effort to make my experience better. She was kind and gracious. It is my understanding that the on-site doctor will help with reconciling any outstanding issues. My review goes from 1 star to 4 stars for the care that was shown. Credit is due to the professionalism that was shown.**

Dr. First is a true professional. He did a great job on my exam. Explained everything completely and concisely. Kay also did a very professional job. Leah did a great job as well. All were very friendly. Great job by all!!

I have absolutely no clue why there are negative reviews for the people working here! I have never had a bad experience and I have been coming here since I moved back to the area in 2018 getting new glasses every other year. In that time I have come in about 5 time with a broken nose piece and have never had any issues getting them to fix/replace the nose piece. This appointment I had weird questions about optical migraines and the Dr. explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and that made sense. All of my questions and concerns with my family history were answered better than any doctor has explained things to me before. She was so patient with me and things didn't feel rushed. I had my mom meet me there as I was searching for frames that worked for me and I needed help deciding between frames. Between my mother and Leah we narrowed things down quickly and decided on a pair. I got my glasses back within a week so only 5 business days after ordering and the lady who helped me was extremely nice. She was watching my body language and asked questions about how things felt before I was sure what my needs were. She had to adjust a few things and made sure I knew about their 30 day return policy if I am unhappy with the frames or lenses.

Found a nice lady to talk to, think her name was Jessie Wiles, very great person and amazing to converse with. Helped me pick out the exact fit for my glasses and even fixed my old ones for me in the meantime, this is the peak example of amazing customer service

Staff are friendly and the appointment was rather quick. Lots of choices for frames, and if you need to take a few home to show family you can do that!

Staff I front was very friendly and helpful. The eye doctor was very friendly and took time to talk to me.
