SSM Health Davis Duehr Dean Eye Care

My wife received a bill after a routine eye exam a couple months ago. With insurance, the pricing total of billable was over $600..!? No glasses, contacts or anything else included, just an exam..! Wild times for the healthcare industry

The woman who helped me select new frames, Jamie, was very helpful. In all my 60-plus years wearing glasses, I have never felt so cared for! Thanks for being a good healthcare provider.

Great experience at Davis Duehr Dean in Portage WI today. Dr. B was thorough and helpful with good advice. Jamie was skillful at helping me find new eyeglasses and doing the measurements and fitting, explaining options that would improve either my vision or comfort. Thank you!

I had the wrong prescription from a particular optometrist (no longer there, thank goodness) . One particular woman who waited on me, Jamie, tried so hard to get the correct lenses with that prescription. She was so patient, very personable and knowledgeable. Because the time period had expired to have another exam, Dean Ins would not cover the expense. Jamie diligently and with patience, tried to adjust the lenses on my new frames throughout a few weeks. Nothing helped with my vision. Finally, the new year began and with it a new eye exam that was covered by insurance. After the eye exam the Doctor indicated that compared to the previous eye exam by the optometrist who no longer practised there, the was a little difference with the new prescription. The prescription was given to another pleasant woman working in that department. I just picked my glasses up and.....the lenses are perfect!

Dr B. The actual eye Dr he is FANTASTIC!!! SO KIND, HELPFUL, VERY SMART, AND SO MUCH MORE!!! THEY ARE LUCKY TO HAVE HIM!! The young lady that does the lil exam before the Dr is great also! The people that work in the eye glass part well I need to keep it pg!! They are not friendly, nor do they even say hi or say we will be right with you ect. When they are ready to "talk" with you they act like you are wasting their time!! Most unprofessional and lazy uncaring employees I have ever seen!!!

What an excellent experience. I was in the area visiting from out of town, but had forgotten to pack my contacts like a dummy. I called and spoke to a very nice lady who provided me with a few pairs, though she knew that I was from out of town and would never be a clinic patient. What an excellent experience from someone who didn't have to do it! Would absolutely recommend if you are local.

Everyone at SSM in Portage are the best! So friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable and patient focused!!! Jeremy & Jamie in the eye care/glasses dept are the best! They know how to take care of their customers and go the extra mile!!!

The doctors and tech are supurb. However receptionists could be better..12 minutes waiting to be acknowledged when only one in line is not good. A simple 'be right with you" , instead of being ignored would be appreciated. Always prompt and courteous doctors and tech tho.
