America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

1st time they made my glasses with wrong prescription. They remade my glasses, but took a month to do it. And I had to call to find out they were ready. Their glasses do Not come with a glass case! Charged my insurance over $350 and don't include a case. Very cheap company. Not inexpensive, as they are not. I buy new glasses every year. I will never go to americas best again. I would say you get what you pay for, but it was just as expensive as others. You just get less. Update: I did follow up as they requested. And as usual, it meant nothing. Just a post to make people think they followed thru or actually cared. I stand by my review.

Was so excited to purchase my glasses more so because I was finally taking care of me for once which is hard as a mom. I spendt an extra hundred for transitions on my favorite pair. I had the glasses for 2 months before my ex stomped on them. I held on to them for another 2 months never finding the time to see if they could be replaced and also accepting it as another L from a toxic relationship. I finally went in and told a nice welcoming employee name Kylah my story and that I would pay w.e to have them fixed. She went to work on these glasses and eventually with the help of Ernest they fixed them like brand new. I'm forever grateful. Now I can say my ex didn't get to take my glasses from me as well. West allis location is personally the best for glasses the interaction with the front staff is top tier and genuine. I probably butchered her name but please give Kylah her flowers she was welcoming from the moment I stepped in the door told me if was going to take a lil bit of time and continued to check in with me as she worked on the glasses telling me everything she was doing. Didn't get a pic of the broken ones but they were beyond repair. Thanks again

Today is the third day in a row I've called to ask questions about replacing a pair of glasses I purchased a few years ago. Day one I was on hold for 22 minutes before someone came back on the line. Day two I was on hold for 27 minutes before they came back and currently I've been on hold for 46 minutes and I'm still holding as I write this review. I understand a lot of places are short staffed. If that is the case simply tell me you will call me back later. There is no excuse for putting a potential customer on hold for at least a half an hour everytime I call. There are plenty of other places to buy lenses and frames from. This is unacceptable. I am not unreasonable and I completely understand businesses being busy and short staffed but instead of making people angry by putting them on hold simply be honest and then call me back as soon as you have a chance. Pretty simple. 90% of people would call another place and wouldn't buy anything from this establishment after being left on hold like this. For the record as I finish writing this review I'm still on hold. It's now been over an hour and I think I've been patient enough. Guess I'll call and purchase from Lens Crafters instead.

Service really went down hill no one greets when you arrive. Waited over 30 min and left due to the lack of communication. I have purchased pairs in the past for my 3 children im just going to go elsewhere from now on, where they truely take care of the customer.

I went there on 12/16/2025 to get a pair of glasses. Today is March 4th, 2026. I still don't have my glasses. They HAVE been providing me with endless excuses. So if you need glasses - Don't go here. On the other hand - If you love hearing stupid excuses, and don't really your glasses to see, this the place for you.

Initially, upon arrival I was greeted, which supports some level of professionalism. I then was ushered to the back area where after about 10 minutes a portly hispanic lady ushered me into a room to check my eyesight using various methods/devices. She was rushing the methods as if she didn't want to do her job with professionalism and she was attitudinal and not very friendly! But the minute a black man came next her attitude shifted to pleasant, jovial, laughter and engagement! I was blown back but not surprised. Afterwards, I went back to the front where I was supposed to choose the frames and did not understand this because again, it was my first time ever getting prescription glasses. What gave it away was that particular black male customer walking around fitting the frames to his face. I then followed his example as the Hispanic lady worker ignored me. She then walked passed me and began talking to him and I knew I had to interrupt her because I was there before him and i wasnt going to stand for anymore of this nonsense! So, the second she looked in a different direction from him I grabbed her attention right away. The Hispanic women in here would rather ignore African American women when we enter but rather help others instead! I shared with her that this was my first experience and was not quite informed which she still did not explain the differences in the prescriptions like; progressives vs. Bifocal where you can see the lines. I had to find out later to get progressives because she was rushing me off. I the returned the next day to get progressives. I reported her to the manager (the African American guy) who said she should've explained it. This guy was extremely customer oriented, very professional and he took the time to explain all the differences. I'm not sure whats going on with the Hispanic women in this general area of West Allis but American Glasses, practice better hiring because I will not be returning... ever again! But 5 stars to the young man because he's a definite winner and bright spot here!

I had them fix the glasses I was wearing to make them tighter. While doing that they made my no line bifocal move into a shape of u shape and will not take accountable. They state anyone could have done that. They do no document accounts. I will never go there again or refer them. I should have went to Walmart vision.

Don't get an eye exam done here. Slow, bad info over the phone, a messy store, and an awful experience. My wife called and made an appointment. They confirmed that she could come in and get just an eye exam. We came in 20 minutes early. We sat down after we thought we been checked in but the receptionist didn't take any info until my wife checked becuase people were going before us that had later appointments. Once my wife was taken back 30 minuets after her appointment time, the tech that started the exam was rude and unprofessional. Additionally, the doctor would not give my wife her prescription without a "trial period" of the contacts. My wife had clearly asked before hand if she could just get the tests done so she could order contacts herself. All in all this was an awful experience and a wast of time trying to get an eye exam here.
