I brought my baby boy for cataract surgery. Everything went smoothly and he is on the mend. Dr. Tina Burling and the vet techs are wonderful.
I love this facility. Front desk staff are friendly and efficient. The vets and nurses are caring, conscientious and collaborative. The appt time is the actual time the appt starts, which is fantastic. Being there is kind of relaxing, don't know why. (Our argumentative, demanding, stubborn, side-eye throwin' daschund's eye issue is chronic, stable and treatable, which is not always the case for vet visits.)
My dog developed an eye emergency and I was referred in by my regular vet. This office was extremely busy but they squeezed us in with kindness. The place is very clean, welcoming, and professional. Every staff member I've interacted with has been fabulous. Prices: yes, they're high, but completely in line with the current local market. Remember, you've got board-certified veterinarians here. And they care.
Our two Persians, Panda and Liberty, have been with the clinic for 4 years now. Liberty and Panda just had their second surgery, both with the cornea grafting approach. I've been trying to avoid this approach due to the known lower transmittance compared to more conservative approaches. It turns out the Panda has has got his eye 100% back to before, as the surgical area is relatively off from the center; while Liberty, which had her Sequestrum right in the center magically got around 70% transmittance around 1 month after surgery and is still gaining more transparency each day! It's hard to express how much my thankfulness I own towards Dr Vig and the clinic!
There was also one small incidence happed for Liberty after the surgery. It could be caused by Liberty herself but Dr Burling helped set up an emergency process (in need of anesthesia) right the next day to keep everything in the right track. It is truly a responsible clinic that i can feel professional and love towards my cats.
I believe having a good working relationship with your vet is very important, and Dr. Burling has made doing that very easy. She is very affable and kind, always smiling, and just comes across as a naturally friendly person. She made herself available to talk to me several times outside clinic hours, because she understands how important my pets are to me. She even subtracted a significant amount from our first payment, cuz she said our little duck Bean was so cute! Cuteness discount, hehe. I love it.
As far as her skills as a vet, she's awesome. I used to be a vet student myself, and I have never seen any vet perform as precise a surgery as she had to do. Bean is smaller than a football, and her eye is about the size of a lentil. The surgical field was only 2-3 millimeters. And Dr. Burling did it.
I trust her completely. And now since I'm sure you've been wanting it, yes, there is duck tax attached to this review.
I brought our foster cat Persimmon in to get an eye growth checked out. The staff were really kind, and Persi loved his doctor. I feel that Persi really got personal, undivided attention. And that proper care was given to his circumstance.
Very friendly people working here. Was impressed with the care and attention they gave to my pup.
Dr. Burling and her team have taken the most amazing care of two of my dogs over the last 5 years. One or both would probably be blind were it not for the first expert care they received from her team. Dr. Burling always presented all of the options, always answered every question I had about the options and I never felt pressured in any way. What really stood out to me was that when one of my dogs needed surgery on her other eye Dr. Burling presented the surgical option for the presenting problem (cataract) but also named a likely future issue (early stage glaucoma) and let me know that both conditions could be addressed at the same time in one surgery which would decrease overall recovery time, minimize invasive procedures, and overall save money. I realize that may not sound like much and might even sound like an upsell but the thing was that she doesn't have the equipment needed for the procedure but let me know that a colleague of her's several hours away does have the equipment and training for the procedure. After giving it much thought and consideration, we decided that given her health history and the necessary recovery time of any surgery that the combo surgery, even though it could not be done by Dr Burling, was our best option. Dr Burling could not have been more caring or supportive during the process. This all happened at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic when no one was taking new patients and appointments for everything were near impossible to get. She personally reached out to her colleague, shared my pet's information, and somehow convinced her to take us on as a patient. Dr Burling provided all of the pre and post-surgical care and thanks to her my girl can still see. We feel so fortunate to have her taking care of our dogs eyes. Fast forward to 2023 and Dr Burling has now done eye surgery on both dogs. Still could not be happier with the care we received from her and her team, as well as her new partners. She always goes above and beyond in her care, even going so far as to write a very compelling letter to our insurance company when the claim for Rocky's eye surgery was denied. If it weren't for her going out of her way to write the letter, we never would have won our appeal
