My son, 7 but started at 6, could not be scored initially. he was not getting preschool words, let alone any 1st grade. he was acting out, having emotional outbursts, and starting to refuse school.
we finished our 30th session 4/28/25, and now my sons reading road signs, and we were able to play catch for the first time. his teachers are amazed at the progress he's made, especially him no longer needing SPED services as he has for the past 2 years.
thank you to everyone at Dr Ks, our family wouldn't be where we are without you!
Dr. Kageyama has made a huge difference in my ability to see well. Through vision therapy I became able to use both eyes together and see the world in 3D. Everyone on the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I recommend them highly.
I was referred to Dr. Kageyama's Vision Therapy Practice from my optometrist after he noticed that my eyes had trouble focusing. After a few months of vision therapy sessions with Dr. Kageyama, my vision improved drastically!! I enjoyed the therapy very much! Everyone was very patient. The staff is extremely nice, professional, and friendly!! I highly recommend!
Dr Colin Kageyama is truly brilliant and a genius at helping kids with Visual processing disorders and also Executive function which is an umbrella for a lot of processing problems. I was referred to Dr K from another expert who helps kids with learning differences and my daughter was 8 when she first went to him. He assured me that she would be reading and comprehending what she was reading after an intensive 3 weeks of therapy. Sure enough we went back to school and she was a book worm and never stopped reading. Today she is several grades past her age group in school. We moved from California to Florida and my son just recently got diagnosed with VPD- Visual Processing disorder and after trying therapy on the East Coast to no avail, I had to travel back to Dr K again so that my son would not fall further behind in school. I also took my daughter for more therapy. Once again Dr K helped my son not only to be able to read and comprehend but now he gets all A;s at school. My daughter is so much more focused now and organized with her school work. Processing disorders are not recognized by any State or the Federal government and also not covered by insurance. I know it is super expensive for therapy but Dr K is worth every dollar he charges and then some. If he says he can help your child, he means that he will not only help them but they will end up being ahead of all the other kids in their class.
Dr. Kageyama was absolutely wonderful! I've had motion sickness and vertigo all my life and after 4 months of treatment, I no longer have symptoms and if I do they are MINIMAL! I can fly, sit in the back seat and not work about getting sick! It also helped me in shopping malls where visually I would get overwhelmed. I highly recommend him because he is the ONLY one that helped me!

About Colin Kageyama, O.D., FCOVD
Our optometric therapy practice is dedicated to the identification and successful treatment of a very special population of children. Children can develop numerous adaptations to cope with the discomfort of binocular vision dysfunction. These are adaptations that can affect a child's ability to perform in reading and school. Even in "vision therapy practices," many doctors spend only a small fraction of their time actually doing vision therapy. Dr. Colin Kageyama's practice offers over 70 hours a week of "doctor provided vision therapy." Located just outside of San Jose, we do not delegate vision therapy to assistants to provide vision therapy while the doctor is providing examinations or fitting contact lenses.
