I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and professionalism at Hyver. My husband scheduled his LASIK pre-op over a month ago, took time off work, and paid for a round-trip Uber expecting his eyes would be dilated. Only when he arrived was he told that Dr. Hyver is retiring in a few days and that his surgery would be handled by an unknown doctor. This is something that should have been communicated well before the appointment. Adding to our frustration, the office was aware that we planned to use our flex spending benefits, which expire in December. Because they failed to notify us earlier, we no longer have time to schedule with another provider--meaning we now stand to lose our flex spending funds entirely. This lack of transparency and disregard for patients' time, resources, and financial planning is unacceptable. We expected better from a medical provider.

Came here for RLE advice and ended up with Dr Jack Tian as my surgeon. Prior to the surgery, Dr Tian spent several lengthy phone calls with me to discuss my needs and suitability with the different IOL lenses on the market. Due to me having had Lasik done 19 years ago for hyperopic (farsightedness), he suggested the LAL (Light Adjustable Lense) from RXSight. I had asked him about the IQ Vivity, Panoptics, and Odyssey initially. The LAL lenses are adjustable after the implant operation, which makes it more interesting because we can continue to tweak the prescription to aim for the perfect vision. Got my LAL lenses implanted in late Jan, and just got my final lock in's today, so exactly 100 days. Had 1 adjustment on the Left eye, and 3 adjustments on the Right eye. My near and intermediate vision is at 100% perfect in my mind, feel like I got my 30 years old eyes back. My far sight vision is probably in the high-90% but I had great far sight before the RLE. Myopic kicked in this year along with astigmatism made it really annoying having to wear reading glasses all the time. RLE was promising and with the LAL lenses definitely delivered the near perfect vision I expected and hoped for. Dr Tian's time with me made me comfortable and trusted in his judgement in terms of the lense option. Dr Nina Van worked with me post surgery to tweak the lenses and she was great. Always making sure that we can achieve the optimal results while listening to my feedbacks. Marleny was great and super energetic and positive when I had the initial consultation. If you are looking for perfect vision adjustments, look no further! A+++

Terrible follow up, after EVO surgery , I went from nearsightedness to farsightedness and still needing wearing glasses . there is nothing change for me . Do not recommend it.

IQ Laser Vision in Daly City made eye surgery a very easy and comfortable experience! Everyone was experienced and knowledgeable. I had a very short amount of time to have SMILE done and the staff were amazing at working me into their schedule last minute. Marleny was especially helpful and responded quickly to any issues that came up. I have recommended IQ Laser Vision to many people already!

Post SMILE with Dr. Hyver in June 2024: Left eye good; right eye blurry. Pre SMILE: -6.5 contacts/glasses with astigmatism on both eyes Overall, I am glad I can see things clearly now with both eyes. I wish my right eye were as good as my left eye, and the difference is hard to ignore. I am giving this business a 3-star rating not only because of the imperfect surgical outcome but also because I was unsatisfied with their communication. Examples: 1. During my consultation, I was only told that there would be a pre-op (dilation exam) before my surgery. During my pre-op, my doctor told me there was a "hole" in my right retina, and I needed to get it checked out by a retinol specialist before my surgery. I recognize that this step is necessary to ensure a safe surgery. Still, I wish I had been informed earlier that this might happen so I wouldn't have been so stressed about calling retinol specialists around the town and trying to squeeze an appointment within the very tight time frame between pre-op and op. 2. Two days before my op, the business called me and said I had to come in again for another check-up before my surgery. I WAS NOT GIVEN AN EXPLANATION on why this was needed. Again, I wish I had been informed earlier that this might happen so I wouldn't have been so concerned that something might be wrong with my eye numbers. 3. At my one-day post-op appointment, the doctor checked my eyes for 5 mins and said, "That would be everything for today ". She would not have told me anything if I hadn't asked her how my eyes looked. Upon my inquiries, she told me my eyes looked "good", but no more details. I will have my 3-month post-op appointment in a couple of weeks. We will see how things go. I haven't noticed any side effects other than my right eye is still blurry. Cost: $5600 ish for both eyes post VSP Premium insurance and employer benefit.

My colleague had referred me to Dr. Scott Hyver previously, highly recommending him and his team, and I had my Lasik procedure done last March 2023. Overall, I had the best and most successful experience... from consultation, to pre-op, to live-op, to post-op. My consultation appointment was VERY thorough, we spent about an hour assessing my vision and I was a great candidate for Lasik. I had additional questions all the way leading up to my pre-op appointment and they were very prompt to answer. On the day of my operation, everything went SO smoothly and it was quick! All done within 25 mins. I would say I was in and out in under an hour, and they gave me CLEAR directions on aftercare. They continued to follow up with me 30 days and 60 days after. It's amazing how my vision kept getting better and better each time. Almost 1 year in, I got a regular eye exam, and my eye doctor was extremely impressed with how sharp my vision has been since Lasik. Overall, highly recommend 10/10. Nicest team and best doctor in the Bay Area.

I got my Lasik surgery done today by Dr. Scott Hyver. Absolutely incredible, life change and worth every penny!. Highly recommend, it doesn't hurt at all. I wanted to cancel so many times due to anxiety but Want was greater than Fear. Highly recommend this place.

Wanted to give a review about 2 months after my surgery to say that I had the best experience getting LASIK w Dr Hyver and my new sight is so amazing - better than 20-20! His staff was super supportive, walked me through the whole process w reminders and easy to understand directions, and it was wild how fast and easy the procedure was. I had dry eye for a few days and lights were blurry at night for about a month and now everything's great. Highly recommend!
